I love the focus on academic achievement, but also the curriculum choices that have been taken here, I love the commitment that staff are giving to taking students on international trips, esports etc. I just love talking to a leader like Nige. #educationalleadership #SEMH

A playful KS1 is not chaos or no instruction; it's not a lowering of standards or an invitation for an unravelling of curriculum and any formality. A playful KS1 is an informed and effective way of welcoming our children into their learning and a wonderful bridge from EYFS.

I took him with me to deliver Christmas cards early this morning and he weed on 3 ornamental garden statues and two Santa stop here signs 😣

Today I watched a 5 yr old dressed as a chicken dancing their heart out, in a calypso style, dressed as a chicken, and with their hat slipped down and covering their eyes! And the kid next to them was facing the wrong way!
One example as to why nothing beats the nativity!

As a parent, I speak about Ofsted knowing the true value of the school they labelled “Inadequate” — and knowing the headteacher who took her life as a consequence. As @ICT_MrP shows, from a frontline teaching perspective, whatever Ofsted claim, the system is essentially the same.

Ofsted say leaders should feel “energised, not anxious” about the inspection changes... but when their own review warns of increased workload, trial inspections feel worse and the Big Listen still hasn’t been published, it’s no wonder the profession isn’t buying it. Trust isn’t

I like talking to Christian. Not only his eclectic musical recommendations, but also because he is comfortable with nuance, sits with uncertainty & draws attention to limitations. He also has opinions & he makes me laugh. So while I'm bias, I think it's a good listen.
