James Talarico on abortion: “I trust Texas women to make decisions about their own bodies, to shape their own destinies. I don’t believe that’s a place for government. That’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion”

So let me get this straight…
We don’t have money for SNAP.
We don’t have money for healthcare.
We don’t have money for public schools.
We don’t have money for veteran services.
We don’t have money for affordable housing.
We don’t have money for mental health services.
We don’t have money for roads and infrastructure.
But we have $1.8b for the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on January 6th?

Dear @RepRalphNorman: Please watch this video. You and I were Members of Congress when January 6 happened. Remember?
Happy to bring police officers who were assaulted on January 6 to your office so they can explain to you how they got their injuries.
Acyn@Acyn
Rep. Norman: January 6th was an issue that was made up in the first place. Reporter: Made up? Norman: That was a staged thing from day one. Reporter: The riot was staged? Your Republican colleagues barricaded themselves in their chamber. You think they were acting?

Has anyone ever asked you: “Well, how do other women do it all?”
Spoiler: they don’t.
Some are barely holding it together with caffeine, overstimulated, guilt, and a Google calendar hanging on by a thread. Some are just better at hiding the overwhelm because women have been socially conditioned to make burnout look graceful.
And when women do “do it all,” it often comes at a cost:
Their sleep.
Their mental health.
Their relationships.
Their physical health.
Their time.
Their identity.
Their joy.
Somewhere along the way, exhaustion became normalized as proof of being a “good woman.”
Maybe instead of asking women to do it all, we should ask why society keeps expecting them to…..

There is a specific kind of silence that only happens when it rains in the Jewish Ghetto of Venice, Italy.
It feels like the stones are finally exhaling. For centuries, this small area held the weight of too much: too many people, too much decree, too much history.
In Judaism, rain isn't just bad weather. It’s Gevurah (severity) meeting Chesed (kindness). It’s Heaven reaching down to wash away the dust of the struggle.
Don’t let the downpour in your life drown you. Let it clear your path. If you’re in a storm right now, let it wash off what no longer serves you. You’re being prepped for a fresh start. 🌧️

My family and I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Donald Trump and Norah O’Donnell last night, and we were shocked. Seeing a president speak to a woman journalist with that level of contempt — and a clear allergy to facts — is disturbing, though at this point not unexpected given his pattern of behavior.
But that is the problem. Because when that level of disrespect from the highest office in the country repeats itself, it starts to trickle down into our culture and define what power looks like, shaping how boys and plenty of men see women and girls and what they come to accept as normal behavior.

Two-year-old Kaleth is being locked away at the Dilley trailer prison. He is getting sicker with each passing day. He will not eat the food CoreCivc serves, which detainees have said sometimes has mold and worms. He now has a fever. When his mother asked for help, the staff said it was all “mental.” A vulnerable child at the Dilley trailer prison was suffering and ICE denied their reality and their needs. It’s shameful and must stop.
I am calling for ICE to provide proper medical care to Kaleth and to release him and his mother Joani immediately.
