As a Cat-3 hurricane passes 70 miles east of us I write my novel by Macbook battery. A Cardinal couple shelters in the bushes, slipping out to eat seed. These two brave little souls inspire my novel with a parrot its center. (For those of you who know my work: Yes, THAT parrot.)

My splendid new agent and instant aesthetic soulmate, Peter Steinberg (at United Talent Agency), and I share a love for this guy and the effects of his pastry. Clara and I paid homage at M. Proust’s grave this afternoon in Paris.

Today Clara and I visited a major Paris location in my newly finished novel, Twice Around a Marriage: the Parc des Buttes Chaumont with the Temple de la Sybille in the background, where the two major characters meet during the 1968 student riots. Dust jacket photo?
