【Made it to the Top 10】Very psyched that my article with Sir #MichaelMarmot was the 6th most read article of the "NAM Perspectives," the monthly journal of US National Academy of Medicine, in 2020! Good tidings for the new year! doi.org/10.31478/20200…

Inequalities in mortality from #COVID19 - the social gradient - are similar to inequalities in mortality from all causes, suggesting that the the general causes of health inequalities as laid out in #Marmot2020 apply to COVID19 plus some extra in more deprived areas.
Office for National Statistics (ONS)@ONS

The mortality rate of deaths involving #COVID19 in the most deprived areas of England was more than double that in the least deprived areas: ▪️ most deprived: 128.3 deaths per 100,000 population ▪️ least deprived: 58.8 deaths per 100,000 population ow.ly/rA1b30qP5UG

Called nine hotels in Beijing last week. None were accepting foreigners. Several said no foreigners, no matter how long they've been in China.
Lily Kuo@lilkuo

Was told by this hotel in Shanghai @FraserSuitesSG that they are not accepting US citizens and 20 other nationalities, regardless of recent travel. I asked the woman at front desk what she would think if US hotels had blanket banned Chinese people. She just laughed uncomfortably.
