@zacharylipton Counterfactuals provide plausible causality. They are not necessarily “the” causality.

The number of ostensibly pro data scientists confusing themselves into believing that "counterfactual explanations" capture real-world causality is just staggering🤦‍♀️. Where do we go from here? How can a community that doesn't even understand what's already known make advances?

AI for business is fundamentally different than consumer AI. You need to put the humans at the center of your AI outcomes and tie those outcomes to real business value. Trust is key to that
