On Bike to Wherever Day this year, Mayor @LondonBreed said she’d direct @SFMTA_Muni to install a protected bike lane on Goodlett Place in front of City Hall, an obvious gap in the network where parking was prioritized over safety. That bike lane is now BUILT! We love to see it.

@Shenanigans_ATL @robinpam @StreetsblogSF Supervisor Peskin stated in our mayoral candidate interview that he voted for Car-Free Market then and supports it now:

@robinpam @sfbike @StreetsblogSF Unfortunately even if Peskin supported car free market, his record on street safety upgrades is awful. His district is a black hole of bike lanes and racks.

In this week’s @StreetsblogSF, @RobinPam makes a case that Mayor Breed is the candidate with the strongest street safety track record. “We need leaders who don’t just say the right things, but who will back up those words with actions.”

We agree. Our Board endorsed Mayor @LondonBreed because of her willingness to work proactively towards making our streets safer for people biking and rolling. She is the candidate backing up her support of safer streets with real policies. sfbike.org/news/endorsing…

Unbelievably, today saw yet another pedestrian fatality on our city streets, on Geary and Divisadero — the second this week.
Our hearts break for their family and friends. We echo @walksf: it should not be life or death to cross the street.
Walk San Francisco@walksf
We are heartbroken and distressed to learn that a pedestrian was killed this morning at Geary and Divisadero. This is the 21st pedestrian death of 2024 and the second within one week. Pedestrians face more threats than ever. This means much more must be done to protect us. We are calling on every city leader and every political candidate to prioritize safe streets today – and every day. It should not be life-or-death to cross the street in San Francisco. sfchronicle.com/bayarea/articl…

This morning, a 70-year-old man was hit and killed crossing the street at Stanyan & Parnassus Streets in Cole Valley.
We grieve this loss and the loss of the 19 other pedestrians who have died this year on San Francisco streets.
Join us and @BayAreaFSS today at 5PM for a solemn vigil to come together with our grief and anger.
