For decades people have said track isn’t dying. This continually repeated means two things. 1) Track obviously will never die! 2) Impending death isn’t the problem. Not thriving is the problem. World Champs every 2 years & Olympics every 4, always great regardless of location. But you can’t thrive as an athlete or a sport with only 1 chance per year to shine for the world. Track needs a truly professional annual series that sits outside the global champs and exclusively for the best of the best athletes. And most importantly, built for media! This is the only way for this great sport and it’s amazing athletes to thrive.
