Homeowners are responsible for trimming trees that interfere with power lines that run from poles to the tops of their homes. Call SRP to have power temporarily de-energized in order to perform safe tree trimming.
SRP is a not-for-profit utility and does not have investors. Any revenue in excess of expenses is reinvested back into our operations. From improving infrastructure to enhancing customer programs, our focus is on people and community, not profits.
Trees that grow too closely to power lines can cause outages, especially during intense summer storms and microbursts.
We recently worked with the @Tempegov to identify and remove hazardous trees, and plant 114 new trees!

SRP has over 1,500 megawatts (MW) of large-scale solar – enough energy to serve 312,000 homes for a year - and more than 1,100 MW of battery storage projects supporting the grid to help ensure that more solar-generated electricity is available during times of high demand.
When vehicles hit electrical infrastructure, our crews are there to de-energize the equipment so it is safe for medical personnel and other first responders to work safely.
SRP hydrologists were in the Northern Arizona mountains gathering snow measurements that help predict how much water will reach Phoenix later this year. kjzz.org/science/2026-0…
