At Sacred Heart School, learning is not one-size-fits-all. Every student has unique gifts, interests, and ways of growing, and our programs are designed to support those differences while keeping faith, belonging, and academic success at the center. Whether a student is driven by athletics, inspired by creativity, or just beginning their learning journey, Sacred Heart offers specialized pathways that help students develop confidence, discipline, and purpose. Each program combines strong academics with meaningful experiences so students can grow as learners, leaders, and people of faith. Explore the programs below to find the pathway that best supports your child’s strengths, passions, and goals.   #wetaskiwin #INDvsPAK

STAR Catholic School Division wishes to share that Dawn Miller is no longer serving as a trustee with our school division. During her time as trustee, Dawn demonstrated deep commitment to Catholic education and faithfully served our schools and communities. Her leadership and dedication were greatly valued and will be remembered with gratitude. Dawn has now joined the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association @ACSTANews as their new Governance Manager, a role in which she will continue to support Catholic education across the province. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dawn for her years of service as a trustee with STAR Catholic and wish her every success and blessing in this new chapter.

Welcome to Dawn Miller, who has joined the ACSTA team as our Governance Manager! A former Catholic school trustee with @starcatholic and most recently the VP for our very own Board of Directors, Dawn brings a wealth of expertise to this position. Please keep her in your prayers!

STAR Catholic Trustees Call for Restoration of Jordan’s Principle Funding STAR Catholic School Division is calling for the urgent reinstatement of Jordan’s Principle funding, which has been vital in supporting Indigenous students with access to mental health services, culturally appropriate learning supports, and specialized interventions. In letters to ASBA and Alberta’s Ministers of Education and Indigenous Relations, STAR Trustees emphasized that the loss of this funding creates serious barriers to equitable education and undermines efforts toward reconciliation. “This is more than a funding issue—it’s about equity, justice, and upholding the rights of every child,” the Trustees stated. For more information on this, visit our website: starcatholic.ab.ca #JordanPrinciple #IndigenousEducation #Reconciliation #starcatholicschooldivision #EquityInEducation

Today on National French Immersion Day, STAR Catholic School Division proudly celebrates our vibrant French Immersion community! Since 1972, French Immersion has helped students across Canada grow into confident, bilingual learners and we’re honoured to play a part in that legacy. Our schools offer rich, supportive environments where students not only learn French, but live it every day. STAR Catholic School Division join in mourning the passing of Fr. Les Drewicki, who faithfully served as the parish priest at St. Vital in Beaumont and served our schools- Académie Saint-André and École Mother d'Youville School. Fr. Les was a kind and devoted spiritual leader to many within our school communities. May his soul rest in peace.

Did You Know? There is Currently No Catholic High School in Beaumont! For the past seven years, parents in Beaumont, along with St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic School Board have been advocating for something essential: a Catholic high school in Beaumont. Why does this matter? This matters because choice in public education is a foundational principle—not just for STAR Catholic Schools, but for the Government of Alberta as well. Beaumont has been growing fast with a population of over 24,000 and climbing. In fact, it is among the top three fastest-growing municipalities in Alberta. But despite this growth, families who want a Catholic high school education have NO option within our community. Catholic education has been available in Beaumont since 2010, yet there is still no Catholic high school for our students to continue their faith-based learning journey. Adding a Catholic high school in Beaumont is not just about faith-based education—it’s about ensuring families have a choice. It would ease overcrowding at the existing high school. It would provide a faith-based education option for families who want it. It would keep students closer to home, rather than forcing long commutes to other towns. It would support Beaumont’s continued growth by ensuring its has enough schools to serve the rising population. It's Time to Make This Happen! The need is clear, and the demand is growing. Our families deserve a Catholic high school in Beaumont. Join us in advocating for choice in education and ensuring our children have the opportunities they deserve
