@wesleytypes @starwars I shit from Prequel fan boys but I loved TFA/TLJ immensely more than the Prequel films all combined. In retrospect I hate what TLJ stands for even as a stand alone film. It's revisionist, post modern, synical deconstruction and castration of male hero Luke personified.

Oh I completely agree. I hated TLJ the first time I saw it, had some time to think, went back to see it again and enjoyed it a lot more. I've only grown to appreciate it more as time has passed. HOWEVER, RoS really puts a damper on that. TLJ could have been a sufficient jumping off point for a good 3rd movie to wrap up the trilogy, but they totally screwed it up. Utter disaster. They either needed to commit to the things TLJ introduced or just have never made TLJ in the first place. Disney choice...neither. Now we're just left with a bad taste in our mouths about everything after TFA. All said and done, on its own, TLJ is still a great Star Wars film.

@FTKL Exactly! It challenges each of them in meaningful ways and has them emerge on top at the end of the day.

Not only that, but they ALL become better people by knowing each other. Each of them grow together, despite all three of them having different backgrounds and world views. Together they become part of a force (pun intended) powerful enough to change a galaxy. THAT'S a good message with which everyone should be able to relate to.
