In my compound, 3 of us contribute ₦22k each every month to buy one full goat and share.
Total: ₦66k.
We always give one neighbour the money to handle it.
A few days ago, a colleague said he wanted to buy goat meat to share with his guys.
I remembered my neighbour once told me where he usually buys from, it’s close to his former house, and I know the place. I didn’t bother calling him; after work, we just drove there.
To my surprise, No goat costs ₦66k.
The highest was m ₦42k.
I stood there calculating…
₦24k difference every single month.
When I got home, I confronted him.
His response shocked me.
"I brought the connection nah. Shouldn't I earn from the update I gave you people? That's my stress and transport."
₦24,000. Every month. For stress and transport to a market twenty minutes away.
His audacity was so clean that, it made me speechless till now.
