Absolute delusional
We understand Saints beat Boro, we understand Saints were the better team, we understand that Boro shouldn’t be in the final.
But Saints literally spied on Boro. Not maybe, not alleged, 100% made the decision to spy on Boro on the eve of a playoff game.
That is what is unlawful and that is what needs to be punished.
English

@AshleyBailez94 @mikewhitesport @jameshoggarth Boro replace us in that case most likely, but the final would be moved
English

@mikewhitesport @jameshoggarth What happens in that respect if they are removed, would Boro replace them or are we playing on our own because as great as it is going to Wembley it be a bit weird against one club plus Southampton are selling tickets to it
English

Middlesbrough have released a statement expressing their disappointment at not being able to intervene in the disciplinary process against Southampton.
The Teesiders have called on the EFL to remove the south coast club from the Championship playoff final.

A statement from the club.
English

@AlexComber_ @PaulAntonybell Would it benefit us in the champ if we stayed down as a post-parachute side?
English

@PaulAntonybell Yeah definitely will in Champ. More in Prem than likes of Bournemouth, Brentford
English

Whatever league #SaintsFC are in next season, they will have to deal with new SCR (squad cost ratio) rules, after 20/24 Championship clubs voted yes to it.
Means 85% of revenue can be spent on player costs, but it's another rule that appears to have ways of surpassing it.
English

@Jack__boro @bazdjcooper @joe_grassham Could be later. EFL hope the hearing can be wrapped up by Tuesday but the decision won't come out the second it's done either
English

Hull City and their fans have been treated with contempt around this whole saga, but common sense has to prevail, and the game must go ahead. #hcafc

@LukesElliott @Strickland__Ben I don't think Boro would or should have suspended Hellberg a week before the play off final when he's not been found guilty of anything, that would be crazy. We've still got a game of football to play yet
English

@Sam__SFC @Strickland__Ben I’m not interested what Southampton have or haven’t done, I was talking about if we had been in the same situation and what I think would have happened.
English

@LukesElliott @Strickland__Ben We don't know people haven't been suspended for a fact though, the club is hardly going to drip feed us info from the investigation.
I also think it's wholly unreasonable to ask the club to suspend Eckert for example before we've concluded he's guilty a week before the final
English

@Sam__SFC @Strickland__Ben That’s what employment law is for. Suspension pending investigation, it’s simple stuff really. I’m sure it’ll all come out… some of us will be right and some will be wrong 🤷🏻♂️
English

@crappyhiker2016 Boro have been allowed to submit their alleged whistleblower statement and whatever evidence they've got about other clubs, they just don't get to directly use it to make their case (because it isn't their case, it's the EFL's)
English

@Sam__SFC Im not sure all of it will - since the original complaint was made more info has come to light, doesnt look as though any of that will be presented.
English

Listen, IF it is proven we've done this all season then we can have no complaints when kicked out.
What said I hope we fucking bury them in lawsuits and steal promotion anyway #SaintsFC
SaintsExtra@SaintsExtra
🚨 Middlesbrough are thought to have evidence that suggests last week was not an isolated incident – this includes a statement from a whistleblower at Southampton who has alleged that spying on opposition teams was a regular occurrence this season #saintsfc @LukeEdwardsTele
English

@LukesElliott @Strickland__Ben This would be fair comment except it's an ongoing investigation and there is a very god chance people lose their jobs over this. We're not done with out internal review yet
English

@Strickland__Ben If it happened, those who organised or instructed it would have been removed from their positions. That’s the biggest thing that has got me over this… someone has planned it and they as a club are accepting that it’s happened. Zero integrity or accountability.
English

@crappyhiker2016 Not necessarily. Boro were never going to get a say it's standard practice but their written evidence will still be considered
English

@Sam__SFC EFL not allowing Boro a say at the hearing means it will probably be confined to the one incident and Saints will get away with it
English

Yet again, nobody knows what Southampton are being found guilty of so this is a fruitless question #SaintsFC
Benjamin Bloom@Benjaminbloom
If found guilty, what punishment should Southampton get? #SaintsFC #UTB #EFLChampionship
English

@Jack__boro @bazdjcooper @joe_grassham There's no way they'd have time to put you in a Saturday game if the hearing isn't over until Tuesday
English

@joe_grassham My gut feeling as of this morning is that the game goes ahead next Saturday as planned. That said, until late last night, I was prepared for it to be moved.
English

@Ant_Dale86 @tom7lawrence @henrywinter He 100% will have known. The quesiton for me is was he the instigator who came up with and sanctioned the idea (sack and ban him) or was this imposed from above and he was just told "Will's going to film Boro" (a genuine apology would do)
English

@Sam__SFC @tom7lawrence @henrywinter Let’s say the club gets a big fine(I don’t think expulsion is likely) then IF they are found to of broken the rules then surely that brings the club into disrepute. That’s if he knew about it that is
