Drishti-10 crashed today, and honestly, I'm not as concerned as many people seem to be. First and most importantly, there were no injuries or fatalities. These systems are still relatively new to our ecosystem, and training sorties exist for a reason. Every flight tests not just the drone, but the procedures, operators, maintenance chain, and the way the system performs in real conditions. Sometimes things go wrong, and when they do, valuable lessons are learned. India has a significant ISR gap compared to some of our adversaries. Platforms like Drishti-10 are part of the effort to close that gap. Whether a sortie is successful or ends in a crash, data is collected, shortcomings are identified, and the system improves. No military capability matures without setbacks. What matters is understanding why it happened and making sure the next flight is better than the last.
