Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of Hmong Lao veterans who stood in defense of freedom and whose legacy continues to inspire future generations.
We remember and thank them for their service.
May we never forget their contributions and the important role they played in our shared history.

National Small Business Week is a great reminder of the impact local businesses have on our communities.
From creating jobs to supporting local causes, small businesses are the backbone of our economy. In Wisconsin alone, there are nearly 500,000 small businesses, making up 99.4% of all businesses, and they employ about 1.2 million people across the state.
This week, take a moment to shop local and support a small business.
Behind every small business is a story of hard work, dedication, and commitment to the community.

Wishing everyone a Happy Feast Day of St. Joseph the Worker.
This session, Wisconsin passed a resolution officially recognizing May 1st as St. Joseph the Worker Day.
He was a carpenter, a provider, and a protector. St. Joseph shows us the value of everyday work.
Today we celebrate all hardworking people in the state of Wisconsin and ask for protection over them.

Attention Wisconsin Local Governments!
Application materials are now available for Round Two of the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP), with $70 million in grant funding up for grabs.
If your community has rural roads, bridges, or culverts stressed by agricultural traffic, this program can reimburse up to 90% of eligible project costs. Roads must serve agricultural or forestry operations, carry a Class B designations or posted weight limits, and be maintained by a local government unit.
Since its creation, ARIP has funded 120 projects across 56 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. There is no reason your community should be left out.
The application deadline is June 29, 2026 at 5:00 pm, with awards expected in Fall 2026. Visit WisDOT’s ARIP webpage for applications materials and more details. Please share this with your local board or county supervisors. This funding is too important to miss.
