Awesome, car insurance is going up $100 a month. Rate hikes all over the place. I just checked with the company I left 6 months ago and they want 3x what I’m paying now.

@ndawg_4 I know what you mean, at Nissan I did a ton of CVT's and transfer cases had to come out as a result, watch your back you only got 1!

Lifting a transfer case above my head while in a half squat position is very hard. But I did it

Soo many things to do, where to start? I need to start piles... piles to sell, donate, scrap, trash, and organize. Years of having no time to suddenly time all the time is weird!

@Spottyroo I think I have the same issue, keeping oil and in coolant in the front of a pushrod ford V8 seems to not be one of my strong suits 😅

Dang it, front main is starting to leak pretty good. Was all new with the timing job, but must have got it slightly off or something. Or it just failed. Hmm

@Spottyroo I miss those days too, every good deal now seems to be word of mouth only, or just wardriving for deals in peoples yards, or online govt or private auctions of local tow companies or Copart/etc but I don't know how to use those.

Local junkyard started selling cars finally. But they’ve been asking around $2K for each one I’ve seen pop up for sale. All builder cars of course because they were junked for a couple hundred I’m sure. I miss the days when you could actually get a good deal on a car.

@ndawg_4 yep 100%, I don't know what happened to plastic and rubber or the compounds they use, but after the 2010s it all got really shitty. I had a set of Michelins on a 1993 Pathfinder that were 20 years old, holding air, not dry rotted. Don't get me started on LA batteries...

This post is not about the plastic radiator. Shut up about the plastic. It's about premature failure of a radiator. Radiators have been plastic for decades. They should not fail this early

@ndawg_4 yeah, the GMT800 I had was awesome too, I think the planned obsolescence junk they are making these days is getting out of hand, especially with how much new trucks and cars cost!

@Shephuurd My 2012 GMC didnt need one until 140k. My friends 2000 last over 200k miles. My brother's k2500 has lasted 184k so far. My 2001 GMC Yukon lasted 215k so far.

Well that turned out way better. Not only did the CCA wire just suck, it was smaller than 4 gauge as it didn’t fit the lug or the battery terminal properly. This new OFC “welding cable” fits great. Oh and coworker loaned me his hydraulic crimper and now I need one.
