Today, I inspected the 33.5km Elele-Omudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku dual carriage way. Considering the attention given to the project, I am impressed with the amount of work done as over 90% of the job has been completed. With what we saw today, we are happy with the contractor's work progress and the assurances that the entire job will be delivered on or before the end of April. The road project is very significant as one of our signature projects especially as it connects three critical local government areas of Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni with emphasis on linking Omoku as a major gas hub in our State. The delivery of the road will further improve economic activity and the security of lives and property of our people along that axis.

Today I inspected the just-completed Abua-Agba-Ndele bridge project. I am quite impressed with the quality of work done by the contractor, Setraco Nigeria Limited We are hopeful that when the 14-kilometer section of the road linking Ndele-Omofor and Agba-Ndele is completed by the end of May, the entire project will be inaugurated. This will improve the movement of our people, boost business in the area and enhance governance.

Today, I charged our newly sworn-in Commissioners to bring their very best to the service of Rivers people. The task before us is clear; to harness all our expertise and experience into delivering progress, strengthening governance and accelerating development across our state. We remain committed to building a better Rivers State for all.

Today, I received the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Our discussion centred on strengthening the partnership between the @NigeriaAirforce and Rivers State to improve on the security and stability of our dear state and the wider Niger Delta area. I reaffirmed our commitment as a government to continue to support our security agencies in every way possible because the safety of our people and the protection of lives and property remains a top priority for this administration. We will keep working closely with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to build a safer and more secure Rivers State.

Yesterday, I swore in two important officers into my administration. Dr. Dagogo S. A. Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government and Barr. Sunny Ewule as Chief of Staff, Government House. I charged them to be committed to working for the success of this administration in bringing about peace, progress and prosperity of our State.

Yesterday, we held a State banquet in honour of an illustrious son of Rivers State, Honourable Justice Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio, who just retired from the Court of Appeal. The event was in recognition of his unwavering commitment to service of State and nation. Worth celebrating is his impeccable integrity on the bench which is a lesson to the younger generation and a pride to us all. Hosting the jurist of inestimable value is our little way of recognizing dedication and contribution to the growth of the judiciary not just in our State but Nigeria as a whole.

Today, I inspected the 50.15-kilometre Port Harcourt dual-carriage Ring Road project. This is one of our legacy projects that underscores my administration’s commitment to the welfare of our people by the expansion of our State’s infrastructure. It was a vision initiated by my predecessor and I am impressed with the level of work done so far and, based on assurances from the contractor, we are confident that this landmark project will be fully completed and delivered by October this year.

Today, I inspected and was impressed with the ongoing rehabilitation of road networks in the old Port Harcourt township. The aim is to restore the township to its past glory of beautiful ambiance. I also stopped over at the Creek road Market which we are rebuilding to create a modern complex so as to remove people trading along the street. Once the market is completed, Creek Road will also be properly rehabilitated to give it a facelift that will showcase the old nature of the area. We promised our people that despite challenges we will remain focused on delivering good governance to the State.
