Happy Workers' Day.

Today, I inspected the ongoing construction of the 25-unit six-bedroom flats being built for Commissioners and Special Advisers. Our administration's intent is to cut rental costs for senior government officials and improve their productivity as well as enhance their security. Considering the pace of work by the contractors, we are hopeful of completing the project within the stipulated timeframe. This will enable us to commission the housing project by November.

Today, l inspected the new Creek Road Market in Old Port Harcourt township and I am pleased with the steady progress recorded at the project site. This project is a deliberate step we are taking to provide safe, organised and dignified trading environment for our people, while also creating the necessary space for the ongoing construction of internal road networks that will improve access and mobility within the area.

I was honoured to host and address our revered traditional rulers at the Southern Traditional Rulers Council Roundtable in Port Harcourt. I affirmed, “our beloved Rivers State is peaceful and always ready to host engagements that promote unity and development.” Together, we must remain committed to strengthening southern unity by fostering peace and advancing the collective progress of our people and the nation under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yesterday, I joined the good people of Opobo Kingdom and Rivers State to pay tribute to our revered monarch, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V who transited at the age of 83. At the funeral service, we reflected on his life and legacy. He lived an honourable life marked by calmness and dignity even in the face of adversity, he lived a life worthy of emulation. We will forever remember him for his mien, composure and fatherly leadership. During his proactive reign, the Kingdom graced the state with eminent citizens including a deputy governor and a governor. Our condolences go to the members of the bereaved royal family as we urge them to continue to value the importance of unity and personal industry.

As we celebrate this season, may the spirit of sacrifice, hope and renewal inspire us to build a more peaceful and united society. Happy Easter.

As we commemorate Christ's sacrifice this Good Friday, may our hearts be filled with humility, compassion and enduring hope.

Congratulations @ 74 to His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I was quite pleased to receive the Muslim Ummah in Rivers State on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr. The visit was another opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to enhancing peace and unity in our State. We will continue to foster harmony and the protection of all residents so as to strengthen our collective prosperity.

Today, I inspected the 33.5km Elele-Omudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku dual carriage way. Considering the attention given to the project, I am impressed with the amount of work done as over 90% of the job has been completed. With what we saw today, we are happy with the contractor's work progress and the assurances that the entire job will be delivered on or before the end of April. The road project is very significant as one of our signature projects especially as it connects three critical local government areas of Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni with emphasis on linking Omoku as a major gas hub in our State. The delivery of the road will further improve economic activity and the security of lives and property of our people along that axis.

Happy Mother's Day to our loving mothers. Your sacrifices build our homes, your prayers strengthen our communities and your care shapes the future of our state. Remain blessed, honoured and protected always.

Today I inspected the just-completed Abua-Agba-Ndele bridge project. I am quite impressed with the quality of work done by the contractor, Setraco Nigeria Limited We are hopeful that when the 14-kilometer section of the road linking Ndele-Omofor and Agba-Ndele is completed by the end of May, the entire project will be inaugurated. This will improve the movement of our people, boost business in the area and enhance governance.

Today, I charged our newly sworn-in Commissioners to bring their very best to the service of Rivers people. The task before us is clear; to harness all our expertise and experience into delivering progress, strengthening governance and accelerating development across our state. We remain committed to building a better Rivers State for all.

Today, I received the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Our discussion centred on strengthening the partnership between the @NigeriaAirforce and Rivers State to improve on the security and stability of our dear state and the wider Niger Delta area. I reaffirmed our commitment as a government to continue to support our security agencies in every way possible because the safety of our people and the protection of lives and property remains a top priority for this administration. We will keep working closely with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to build a safer and more secure Rivers State.

Yesterday, I swore in two important officers into my administration. Dr. Dagogo S. A. Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government and Barr. Sunny Ewule as Chief of Staff, Government House. I charged them to be committed to working for the success of this administration in bringing about peace, progress and prosperity of our State.

Yesterday, we held a State banquet in honour of an illustrious son of Rivers State, Honourable Justice Obietonbara Owupele Daniel-Kalio, who just retired from the Court of Appeal. The event was in recognition of his unwavering commitment to service of State and nation. Worth celebrating is his impeccable integrity on the bench which is a lesson to the younger generation and a pride to us all. Hosting the jurist of inestimable value is our little way of recognizing dedication and contribution to the growth of the judiciary not just in our State but Nigeria as a whole.

Today, I inspected the 50.15-kilometre Port Harcourt dual-carriage Ring Road project. This is one of our legacy projects that underscores my administration’s commitment to the welfare of our people by the expansion of our State’s infrastructure. It was a vision initiated by my predecessor and I am impressed with the level of work done so far and, based on assurances from the contractor, we are confident that this landmark project will be fully completed and delivered by October this year.
