In a recent $JSECMH CMH results call they commented that when they were selling Chinse cars out of their fleet, they gained slightly worse second-hand resale values (not as good as anticipated) With some Chinese brands either not increasing new car prices or increasing at very low % + on-going upgrades in model range / specs ... consumers wanted to buy the new cars (with warranty etc) and were seemingly not as keen to buy 'older' second-hand Chinese vehicles Something to monitor in the years ahead as the influx of Chinese models start to come off motorplan / warranty and hit the after market

Interim trading update from broiler, animal feed and eggs small-cap $JSEQFH Quantum Foods Holdings Better animal feeds & farming kicks into earnings with lower egg contribution HEPS guidance 83.5 cents to 89.5 cents (+12% to 20%) a credible performance BUT given the on-going fight between the two opposing shareholder blocks (a total Stalingrad stalemate) and NO liquidity & NO institutional interest ... #QFH as a listed entity in the agricultural space has become (sadly) a total irrelevance H1 results on @JSE_SENS May 22nddeal with the Not worth an investors time to ever bounce a look yet alone the on-going media coverage Can't Darth Chicken in Kariega (Uitenhage) just make a deal with the other cohorts and bid already and put all out of their stalemate misery ?

Yes, interesting that Via Afrika, the educational publication subsidiary of Media 24 / Naspers who (have/had) material interest in foundation 1 - 3 education books saw their market share of said tender slam from @20% down to a pittance % On a search, Via Afrika is winding down operations as of May 2026 (article out yesterday) ... is this timing tied to the DoBE tender that is now being investigated ?

In this week's issue of @FinancialMail @smalltalkdaily was asked to write a feature commenting on my observations on the late-March site visit to $JSEGND Grindrod's crown jewel ports assets in Mozambique (Port of Maputo + Matola Dry Bulk Terminal) If you want to know why the #GND share price has surged in the past weeks to record levels ... have a read of the article. The potential within #GND is there to read in my feedback

Malaysia just made a BIG move for palm oil 🌴🔥 From June 1, 2026 → B15 biodiesel (15% palm blend) goes live nationwide. This is not incremental. This is structural. • Jump from B10 → B15 • 19 plants ready • B12 as transition → full rollout • Target: B20… even B50 in next 2–3 years • Already running B20 in key regions Why this matters 👇 Rising crude = countries scrambling for alternatives Malaysia = locking in domestic demand for palm oil Less fossil fuel imports = stronger energy security This is how demand gets built. Not overnight. But steadily… structurally… aggressively. If more Asian countries follow, veg oil markets won’t look the same again. 📈

Stadiums (may) be half empty (like Trump rallies these days) due to US politics affecting in-bound tourism / soaring fare costs (again Trump) and the ticket greed of FIFA Can't wait to see the press conferences from his propaganda machine boasting of record crowds (will probably give tickets away or bus them in like the EFF / ANC does)

2026 is flashing a major climate warning ⚠️🌍 A record-fast switch from La Niña ➝ El Niño is underway — and that speed usually means strength. This isn’t just another cycle. Past El Niño events have triggered: • Droughts 🌵 • Floods 🌊 • Wildfires 🔥 • Even food crises & instability Now connect the dots 👇 ➡️ Weakening monsoon signals in India ➡️ Rising agri risk (rice, pulses, oilseeds) ➡️ Inflation pressures could build fast The real danger? A strong El Niño + poor monsoon finish = supply shocks Markets aren’t pricing this in yet. Watch weather. It’s about to drive everything.

They have (but) I foresee the rest of 2026 will also be pretty tough especially within iron ore for other reasons Exports have been running 11% - 13% below Transnet allocation for an extended period due to export line problems 2027 (could) see an improved export line allocation from the present 870,000 tons and that (could) be increased to @1 - 2 million tons under changes to allocations due to end at the end of 2026 and new benefits to smaller scale miners and BEE entities If that were to occur then it would lessen the grip AMSA has on AFT as a major part of their iron ore production is captive as it cannot be exported and is thus hostage to AMSA (and we all know how that company has been performing) Any lessening of risk to AMSA and increasing hard currency exports in 2027 will only be good news (but) a long way to go yet as I'm sure the big exporters will fight tooth & nail to any cuts in their allocation to favour smaller/BEE iron ore producers

Iron ore pushing into highs last seen over two years ago at US$108.17 a ton Looking at the data points and currency From iron ore's 2026 February low + currency, iron ore in US$ is +20.3% higher and +19.7% in Rand to current levels Thus, exporters such as $JSEAFT Afrimat & $JSEKIO Kumba (should) be faring better (if) @ReliableTFR is actually performing But as we know there is more to iron ore local producers than just exporting

A chart price that is as scary as physical oil as palm oil is found in so many consumer products, goods and foods Palm oil in the past 12 months +33% back to levels last seen in 2024 when largest producer Indonesia temporarily banned exports to protect local consumers Prices have risen as Malaysia - another top producer - intend to blend palm oil into fuel to counter rising physical oil prices Further sector concerns swirl over increasing production costs (fertilizer), increasing signs of a hotter drier El Nino season in growing regions and anticipated lower production from Indonesia Soft commodities such as wheat and soya are also rising - as a side effect of their use in biofuels and the linkage to the rising oil price. Palm oil is following Thus, food price inflation is building as year to date US wheat is +20% and soya + 15% with palm oil +19% .. that's some serious inflationary pressure in basic food groups and animal feed building in the system

Was out in Gansbaai earlier and a small independent two pump fuel station down one of the back streets allied to one of the big oil majors had a line of cars lined up down the street ... I wondered why ... granted the fuel price is going up tomorrow .... but they were advertising "Unleaded R22.80" How they can offer this price was my pondry ... but who cares ... its cheap petrol

This headline in @BDliveSA is very positive news for South Africa's large agricultural sector The export led side of agriculture has had a torrid period beset by former large export markets now closed (Russia), EU rules on citrus exports (Coddling Moth) alongside the volatility of the #Trump tariffs, Rand volatility and @TPT_Transnet inefficiency hitting exports With a vast consumer market now open to #SouthAfrican exports, I'd hope that local fruit, wine and agricultural producers grasp with open arms the opportunity which could be significant for local fruit, wine & horticultural producers
