70% of our non-debt recurrent expenditure goes to wages, salaries and pensions of civil servants. N10.75 trn out N15.4 trn. The rest goes to overheads for the Ministries - utilities, training, travels, supplies etc. Who do you think gulps recurrent expenditure? Tinubu?
Egbuna Obinna@iamegbuna

@fimiletoks Recurrent expenditures are quickly funded by capital expenditure that benefits the man on the street barely gets funded. Just like telling your kids, no more 3-square meals a day but as the parent you eat 3-square meals comfortably. We are subsidizing wants of the govt!

If you cannot manage your house - you can't manage an estate. If you can't organize a house party - you cannot plan a societal wedding. If you can't train a child - you cannot raise a community. If you cannot organize a small political party - You cannot govern a Nation. A lion's true strength is seen not in how it roars, but in how it hunts the smallest prey. Am I clear? Good Evening Severally...

While some people are busy shouting “Nigeria is finished,” our soldiers are inside forests in Plateau risking their lives and actually fixing the problem. Troops under Operation ENDURING PEACE went into Wase. Faced terrorists. Neutralized two on the spot. Others ran with bullet wounds. Weapons recovered. Hideouts destroyed. In Qua’an Pan, they intercepted suspects with 100 rounds of ammunition. When their gang tried to attack, the operation still ended in their collapse. In Shendam, a kidnapper was picked up. Clean. Precise. Effective. This is how serious countries deal with insecurity. Not noise. Not hashtags. Action. So before you type another “nothing is working,” ask yourself, are you informed or just loud? To the Nigerian Army, respect. Real work. Real results.

Many Yoruba people especially youths will understand the meaning of Yoruba if we had been in a civil war like some people. They won’t be sitting down where Yoruba is being denigrated and stereotyped, and be ki-ki-ki-ing in the comment sections. They won’t be pandering and trying to satisfy/not offend other ethnic groups rubbishing them, and even doing giveaway with their heritage. They won’t be allowing people call them ‘Omo Ibo’, just because of Yoruba beauty, and won’t be tolerating animals harassing them in markets. They won’t be allowing open or subtle denigration from savages from backward region in the name of politics. Tough times produce tough people, tough people produce good times, good times produces spoilt and insensitive brats without self awareness and native intelligence.

Adebanjọ camping with Peter Obi and division of Afẹnifẹre camp into two, the pronouncement that Afẹnifẹrẹ is not for Yoruba and the tarnishing of AG history in the twilight life of Adebanjọ, his determination to stop Bọla Tinubu and his eventual disgrace. A lesson in time to show how bitter and ugly Yoruba internal wars have always been. A self destructive and often individualistic driving wars that serve typically one man ego and damn the collective. As it was with Afọnja and Aolẹ so has it remains in some corners. It will end in this generation and Thinking Yoruba First will be the new ideas.

During IBB regime... Prof Wole Soyinka and Late Tai Solarin criticise am die...many names were called him..nepotic, despotic, corrupt, ...you name it.... As the MARADONNA that he was ...IBB decided to give them chance to test public service... 1) PROF WOLE SOYINKA: He appointed Prof Wole Soyinka to establish the Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC). When Prof was forming the members of the command, he asked IBB to appoint the regional and state command heads.....IBB told him to go ahead and use his descretion and send him the list.....Na there the BANANA PEEL DEY🤣🤣 By the time Prof sent his list... 100% were Yorubas 100% were of the Sea Dogs Fraternity ( Pirates) 🤣🤣🤣🤣 IBB told him...just a chance to demonstrate balanced leadership...you fumbled...see your list....to criticise is easy, to practicalise...na war. IBB went ahead to amend the list. 2) DR TAI SOLARIN: IBB appointed him Chairman of the defunct People's Bank ( a Bank for poverty alleviation set up by IBB regime) Dr Solarin who swore on his life never to wear anything flambouyant, appeared in his first public appearance on FLAMBOUYANT AGBADA🤣🤣🤣 Within two years ( although he was innocent) but right under his nose (leadership ) big FRAUD rocked the Bank. Baba had to quickly resign 🤣🤣🤣 MORAL OF THE STORY: Govt crit8cs and activists often do not make GOOD LEADERS! Because they are more IDEALISTIC than PRAGMATIC & REALISTIC.

These are the stupid things he says that impresses his Obidients, none of them is asking him when primary healthcare became a federal government’s responsibility, how many did he even build as governor for 8years? Did all communities in Anambra have that facility before he left?

The level of mediocrity in Yorubaland has reached a level where people with zero width of history will openly be arguing about history when they have zero scholarship in Yoruba history. To this mediocres, the works of clapperton, Falola, Ogundiran, Ogunyemi, Awe, Akintoye and other great Yoruba historians are useless and except the village accounts that they peddle on social media. With the help of internet, we should not have people who are ignorant about Yoruba history anymore but this madness is actually becoming worse. From TikTok to X. No wonder proper academics do not engage in robust discussions anymore here due to the abundance of idiots in the social media space.

You simply understand it. Ibadan used Alaafin as an excuse and proxy to annex Ijaiye. Alaafin was in tears when he saw what Ibadan did to Ijaiye because Ijaiye was the city of his mother. When they were done with Ijaiye, they cut off the Alaafin totally and he became a ceremonial monarch with no strong army but at the mercy of Ibadan war machine which dictated terms and conditions to Alaafin during this terrible period. This is why warlords must never be allowed to take over Yorubaland in this century.
AshYaz@innoguevara

@AKakanfo Ibadan fought Ijaiye on the pretext of defending the Alaafin yet they annexed the land for themselves. If they were under the Alaafin they would have relinquish Ijaiye to him. A lot of people don’t know the Alaafin institution was largely ceremonial at that point in time.

Baba made mistakes by throwing social benefits open for ALL. Our parents were heavily taxed to fund those benefits which should have been restricted to their children alone. Jakande & Tinubu both referenced Awo when they revived the benefits in 1979 & 1999 respectively. Both also threw it open for everyone. Tinubu even added free WAEC & free eyeglasses(jigi Bola). The worst was the allocation of that Alaba for free by Jakande which the military implemented. From Ogun to Ekiti, Governors all referenced Awolowo when throwing open benefits that were not even enough for indigenes. They didn't owe anyone anything but they wanted to be bonafide Awoists. Now, it has birthed entitlement mentality masked as 'One Nigeria'. When a guest becomes too comfortable in ur house, with time, he would begin to demand for same rights as your Children. Awo failed us on that decision! Where do we go from here?
IFÁ FUNSHO 𓋹@funshographix

Yoruba should be thankful to Awolowo. After the amalgamation of Nigeria. If Awolowo was a Yoruba but. I don't know where the future of Yoruba will be by now. Awolowo was a pure Yoruba nationalist. Anytime I read his books & history of Nigeria. A man like that should never be forgotten in Yoruba land.

At the root of every destruction of Yoruba nationalist movement is where you see the mob leaders hijacking leadership. The Yoruba space have become like that since the death of Bola Ige. Same thing amongst the Ijaws. The warlords with guns are the leaders while the intellectuals have been shut down. I know of some irritants who said intellectuals are not supposed to lead any Yoruba institution but people like him with zero understanding of Yoruba history and identity are better managers. This is why over 100 Yoruba organisations have ceased to function for the past 10 years. The mob leaders have destroyed everything. We allowed them because we were not as brutal as they are. Tinubu understands this better, which is why he survived the brutal mobs in Yorubaland.
Dennis Adesanoye@stdennis02

@AKakanfo Afenifere leaders humiliated Bola Ige by refusing to name him as AD's consensus presidential candidate in 99. They ensured he contested against Olú Falae and supported Falae. He fought back by accepting ministerial nomination from OBJ. That's the beginning of Afenifere's crisis.
