@yeag03 @Mcgroj @Kaorumitsurugi The big standouts for me in 2015 were Gundam IBO and Thunderbolt, and Fate UBW. Then a couple years later we started getting stuff like Banana Fish, Vinland Saga, Dororo, Demon Slayer, Golden Kamuy, Dorohedoro. That was when I started watching anime more regularly again.

Like, I can't emphasize enough, "seasonal anime" was a derogatory term in the early 2010s because it just meant "derivative SoL / romcom," people said Kill la Kill and Space Dandy were "saving anime" because seasons then were so bad. We're eating so well now by comparison.

There were some obvious exceptions to anime's early 2010s age of slop, but I feel like the only thing that REALLY blew me away was Iron Blooded Orphans in 2015. The whole era just felt relatively weak after the generational run studios like Madhouse and Bones had in the 2000s.

I honestly think 2010-2016 was the weakest overall period for anime in the past 30 years, and we've been in a modern golden age since around 2018. I mostly stopped watching at that point and MAPPA's Banana Fish, Dororo, and Vinland Saga were what got me interested again.

@SneedChuck01 @Kaorumitsurugi I think it sort of betrays history to not account for the popularity of Oreimo, SAO, and Nisekoi. Not that they were "good" or as popular as those shows in the west, but they were definitely big.
