Last week, the Minister of Indigenous Affairs presented his Ministry’s Estimates, and I had the chance to ask questions about their spending. I asked about Bill 5 consultation costs and how much Ontario spends fighting lawsuits from First Nations. This was his answer.

ICYMI: Grassy Narrows launched a legal application against Ontario today. It states the Mining Act is unconstitutional by allowing online mine staking with no consultation from affected First Nations. Here is my statement on that action:
