Feel like doing another poll on what is becoming a very debateable topic on #Pompey social media. Where do you stand?

@Brooke_Smedley I'm deluded for pointing out how broken Championship finances are? Because you don't understand the actual meaning of net worth? And you've completely ignored the views of actual finance experts. Not going to bother responding to you anymore!

@SonStats You’re fucking deluded, simple as £10m is a drop in the ocean to a BILLIONAIRE, I’m sure the club valuation drops by more than £10m if we get relegated to League 1

@Jay_Stewart1 @KieranMaguire @IanDarke BristolC lost £18.6m in this same period, have a rich owner that has pumped in £280m to date (over 29yrs tho) and still have fans singing "sack the board" as another midtable finish is imminent. Champ is a depressing league to try to compete in. bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@Brooke_Smedley As fans of course we want more investment and to progress. But from a business POV if the owners invested £10m into the squad and we finished 9th, all they'd have to show for it are £15m-£20m losses. The Championship is spiralling out of control!

@SonStats Doesn’t mean fuck all, the overheads look great because there is little to no playing team investment

Portsmouth publish accounts for 24/25, when the club finished 16th in the Championship. By the standards of the division, the financials are very impressive. 🔑figs ⚽️Revenue £24.6m ⬆️80% (mainly due to promotion to Championship and earning 6.5x in the TV deal ⚽️Wages £17.4m ⬆️ 65% ⚽️Wages 78% of revenue ⬇️6% ⚽️Average weekly wage £7,400 (Championship average £16,100) ⚽️Underlying loss £4.6m ⬇️18% (Championship average £31m) ⚽️Player sale profits £0.4m ⚽️Pre tax loss £4.4m ⚽️Player purchases £4.6m ⚽️Player sales £1.0m ⚽️ Borrowings £8m

I'd rather have kept Pack as a zonal marker at the near centre with Devlin marking Agyemang as he's more mobile. Brown then guides the near-post with Chaplin staying on Brereton Diaz. Let me know your thoughts!

Now it's easy to blame zonal marking as a whole for conceding the goal (and there is some truth in that) but ultimately I look at the roles each player has been assigned. Brown being asked to zonally mark the near centre, Chaplin at the near post, Devlin on Brereton Diaz and Pack man marking Agyemang are all questionable to me. Pack doesn't have the greatest mobility but is a decent enough presence when defending set-pieces. Brown marking zonally seems a bit lazy as that would most likely have been Bishop's role, so they might've just thought 'leave it as it is'. For me it's more to do with the setup of the strategy rather than the strategy itself.

Save Shaughnessy for these five games. QPR Oxford Leicester Stoke Birmingham Sub cameos in Norwich and Ipswich games to maintain sharpness, rested fully for Middlesbrough and Coventry to save from travelling. #Pompey
