@DUSKdev I honest my don't know what this person means by "recency bias with ai slop".. That term and mentality has been a thing since before covid. It's just exploded into the mainstream.. Just as much as the ram price.

Honestly this is probably correct, and that's what makes me so frustrated. It's going to be normalized the same as the last 5+ years of dumb bullshit in graphics tech, which is only just starting to provide a semblance of improvement for the massive resources it demands.

@JayHooft @Genki_JPN It's playing the games as if you were in docked tv mode. So if your game was 720p in handheld previously and 1080p in docked. Then you now have (assuming it's compatible) 1080p resolution in handheld.

@BrodieOnLinux I agree on the dlss and dlss5 part.. But raytracing as cost cutting? Implementing raytracing properly is arguably much more time consuming and technically challenging then just relying on pre-baked lighting and screenspace reflections.

"It's not like any game is going to force it on you" I feel like we heard the game thing about raytracing and then devs started relying on it as a cost cutting measure, or earlier forms of DLSS and then games started releasing in considerably worse optimized state.

@stevesi Look at the uptime. Of course windows will have things cached in ram when running for that long. The other one has basically just booted up.

Windows 8 RTM (default setup) on a 1GB ATOM (netbook) system. (versus Windows 7 on same PC)
