This weekend, CPU was honored to join the Ollis family to pay tribute to the remarkable life and incredible legacy of their son, Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis as he posthumously was presented with New York State Medals. May we remember each and every day Michael’s heroism and bravery.

On Saturday, my team joined Councilwoman Hanks and the Power family to honor a remarkable advocate for the St. George community and long time St. George Civic Association member, Sarah Doyle Power. May St. Marks Place and Wall Street forever pay tribute to her incredible legacy.

This week our SI Fentanyl & Overdose Task Force reconvened for an important meeting discussing the continued distribution of Opioid Settlement Funds to SI. It is vital that we receive our fair share so we can continue to turn the tide on the opioid epidemic & save lives.

Today my team was delighted to join Community Resources Staten Island for their Annual Joseph Conti Serenity Garden planting day! We thank CRSI for providing wonderful programs like this that foster learning, vocation opportunities and social connections on a daily basis.

As we mark Mental Health Awareness Month, RCDA was proud to join NAMI today for a ribbon tying to symbolize our ever-present commitment to helping those suffering from mental health, supporting families & providing education & advocacy to combat mental health stigma.

Joined by new members & fresh ideas, the SI Hate Crimes Task Force reconvened this week to further our mission to ensure our borough is a safe place for all who call it home through education, prevention,&, when necessary, prosecution because intolerance has no home on SI.

This week, my office had the pleasure of celebrating with the Buonocore Family as their business, Buono Jewelers Inc. was recognized as the Small Business Manufacturer of the Year for the Metro New York District. Congratulations to the Buonocores on an honor very well deserved!

Illegal & unlicensed mopeds fly flagrantly in the face of our traffic laws, making our roadways less safe & worsening the quality of life for Staten Islanders. I was proud to join @NYPDPC, @SIBPVito & our DSNY partners to destroy over 200 of these illicit vehicles earlier today!

Recognizing National Nurses Month, my team was thrilled to join VNS Nurses to thank these local healthcare heroes for the invaluable care & compassion that they provide for countless Staten Islanders. Thanks to all of our borough's nurses for your dedicated & selfless service!
