Je suis profondément attristé par le tragique accident survenu à l’aéroport de LaGuardia impliquant un appareil d’Air Canada Express en provenance de Montréal. Mes pensées accompagnent les familles, les proches et les collègues des personnes qui ont perdu la vie, ainsi que toutes celles et ceux qui ont été blessés. Le Canada travaille étroitement avec les autorités américaines alors qu’elles enquêtent sur cet incident, et nous suivons la situation de près. La sécurité aérienne demeure notre priorité absolue.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident at LaGuardia Airport involving an Air Canada Express aircraft arriving from Montréal.  My thoughts are with the families, loved ones, and colleagues of those who lost their lives, as well as all those who were injured.  Canada is working closely with U.S. authorities as they investigate this incident, and we are following developments closely. Aviation safety remains our highest priority.

The Mackenzie Valley Highway will finally get built.    With construction starting this summer, the highway is going to be a gamechanger for the North.

Très heureux d’avoir rencontré aujourd’hui l’ambassadeur du Liban au Canada, Bachir Tawk, afin de discuter des enjeux actuels au Liban. La communauté libanaise est profondément ancrée du tissu social de Gatineau, et les événements qui se déroulent actuellement au Liban touchent profondément de nombreuses familles ici chez nous. Aujourd’hui, notre gouvernement a annoncé 37,7 millions de dollars en aide humanitaire afin de soutenir les populations touchées par le conflit, notamment pour l’accès à la nourriture, aux soins médicaux et à de l’eau potable. Dans les moments difficiles, le Canada demeure solidaire du peuple libanais et engagé à soutenir les efforts humanitaires visant à protéger les civils et à répondre aux besoins urgents. 🇨🇦🇱🇧 / Very pleased to meet today with Lebanon’s Ambassador to Canada, Bachir Tawk, to discuss the current situation facing Lebanon. The Lebanese community is an important part of the social fabric of Gatineau, and the events unfolding in Lebanon are deeply felt by many families here at home. Today, our government announced $37.7 million in humanitarian assistance to support those affected by the conflict, including access to food, medical care and clean water. In difficult times, Canada stands in solidarity with the Lebanese people and remains committed to supporting humanitarian efforts that protect civilians and respond to urgent needs. 🇨🇦🇱🇧

Rencontre hier avec le maire de Saint-Lambert, Loïc Blancquaert, en compagnie de ma collègue la députée Alexandra Mendes. Nous avons discuté des priorités de Saint-Lambert et de la façon dont nous pouvons travailler ensemble pour faire avancer des dossiers qui amélioreront la qualité de vie des citoyens et citoyennes. 🤝🇨🇦 / Yesterday, I met with Saint-Lambert Mayor Loïc Blancquaert, alongside my colleague MP Alexandra Mendès. We discussed Saint-Lambert’s priorities and how we can work together to move forward on initiatives that will improve residents’ quality of life. 🤝🇨🇦

Due to the expected weather conditions, the Alto open house scheduled for tomorrow in Gatineau will be postponed. The safety of everyone remains our priority. A new date will be communicated shortly.
