スタイルカウンシルは、当時はJAMファンやロックファンから、あまりの音楽性の変化に「裏切り」とみなされていふしがあったが、今聴いても全く古い感じがしないし普遍的に受け入れられる様な曲が沢山ある。
まあ日本ではスタイルカウンシルは酷評されるどころか人気があったので海外の評価に触れて少し驚いたぐらいなんだけど🙄
モッズやニューウェーブから、ソウルやジャズの洗練されたサウンドへの変化はポールウェラーの音楽性の幅の広さを感じさせる。
当時は商業的にもそれなりに成功したし、新しいファンも獲得したが、あまりにお洒落すぎてチャラく感じたのかもしれない🤔
大衆迎合的な感じは一切しないんだけどなぁ。
近年また再評価の動きが高まっているのはポールウェラーファンとして嬉しい限り💐👍😎
この曲大好きなんだよなぁ💐
個人的にはカフェロックと呼んでいる...笑
とりあえずポールウェラーは当時もイケメン🫡
