Yesterday we visited Westminster Hall for our Stop Rosebank Mass Lobby event with @HopeFTFuture! Thank you to all of our amazing supporters who attended from all across the UK. We met with an incredible 16 MPs and staffers, encouraging them to oppose the Rosebank oil field.

Our dependency on oil and gas is making all of us poorer… …EXCEPT oil bosses and their shareholders, who are raking it in. The only solution is to speed up the dash to renewables.

People in this country want lower bills, secure jobs and a liveable climate for their children, not some pipe dream that only serves oil and gas profiteers.

After 50 years, we have burnt most of what was in the North Sea, and the UK is set to become almost entirely reliant on gas imports by 2050, even if new fields are developed. Doubling down on fossil fuels will only benefit oil and gas giants, who are already raking it in.

REMINDER: The only route to lower bills and secure energy is to free ourselves from oil and gas through homegrown renewable energy and upgrading homes - whether that’s with solar panels or heat pumps. This is just common sense in today’s world.
