@freyfrigg @KnightxPrince Ausreden und Rechtfertigungen, warum man nicht rettet. Das passiert jedes Mal, wenn ein großer Wal strandet. Sie untersuchen keine Erfolge, sie finden 10.000 Ausreden, um nichts zu tun.

@StrandedNoMore @KnightxPrince ITAW sagte, dass durch das Netz die Navigation versagt und der Wal zu oft gestrandet sei als dass man noch denken könnte, er würde ins Meer finden.

@NG85522206 @greenpeace_de It is not just funds, it is liability too, they are paranoid someone will get injured, and they will get sued, it is a common issue in large whale strandings. It is safer to not rescue and just sit and wait.

@StrandedNoMore @greenpeace_de I know. Problem is #Backhaus haven't had the right plan (without knowing it + whale is NOT "ill"!) AND they don't wanna pay for it anymore + don't believe in rescue. Donations would cover. We have to CONVINCE them +telling, shitstorm is coming then + no costs at all when allowed!

The fact that they are still talking about the net as the primary concern shows that everyone is still clueless. Due to baleen whale anatomy, the rope is not swallowed , it's entangled in the baleen. Teams cut the rope and leave the rest. It's called non-lethal entanglement. 🧵

What is upsetting is that those who refuse to rescue also refuse to step away and let others try. We hope Buckli/Hope/Timmy's case will open people's eyes to how stranded cetaceans are treated.
