Here's a small Vtuber's tip on commissioning art from VGen
1. It's better to search for art that already includes monetized content rights (meaning in the base pay not add ons) even if you aren't monetized on your socials yet. Save for future headaches in case you do get monetized.
2. Commercial Merchandise Rights are pricey and only worth it when you have a community that wants to buy physical Merch. It's very rare to see an artist on VGen include commercial rights in base pay it's usually an add on. Just keep in mind it's not mandatory if you don't plan to make merch.
3. When scouting an artist to create a live 2d vtuber model with rigging ensure that they provide the moc3 files ( Live2D model data used in Vtube studio), the json files (Live2D model data used for physics and such), and the cmo3 files (Editable rigging model file not useable in vtube studio). Bonus: If they created the model from scratch make sure they provide a PSD file as well. It can be used to make updates to your original model.
Happy Commissioning!!
