Today, Chief Lipinski, Supt Mangat, and A/Insp Blades dropped by the District 4 Cloverdale office to visit SPS officers who started working in Cloverdale this week. We’re looking forward to further connecting with community partners and residents in our newest service area.

Our hearts are with @sureteduquebec as we learned about the tragic death of Sgt. Anaïs Fortin-Cozzens in the line of duty in Portneuf-sur-Mer. SPS extends its deepest condolences to the officer’s family, friends, and our colleagues at Sûreté du Québec.

Great work by the BC Extortion Task Force in charging Jaskarn Singh in relation to an extortion-related shooting at a Surrey business. Singh was arrested in Calgary and his arrest was part of a unified effort from Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams, and policing partners in the Lower Mainland.

SPS has notified Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO BC) of a #SurreyBC incident, where an individual has been injured in officer-involved shooting. IIO BC was notified by SPS, asserted jurisdiction and is investigating police actions in incident. bit.ly/4s7Zf8e

Today we honour the life of Constable Roger Emile Pierlet of the Surrey RCMP, On March 29, 1974 while on his last shift before taking time off to get married, he was tragically killed while conducting a traffic stop. We remember his sacrifice.

A Surrey resident recently thanked our officer for their quick response to their report of seeing a reckless driver. Within 20 minutes, the officer located and issued a warning to the driver. We are thankful for the kind words from this citizen and their contribution to keeping Surrey safe.
