Councillors will now discuss the Council’s future governance arrangements in line with the Council’s Constitution.

Polling stations have now closed across Swindon 🗳️ The ballot boxes will now be taken to STEAM to be verified. 📊 The count for the Borough Council elections takes place tomorrow (Friday, 8 May). We’ll be sharing results throughout the day on our Facebook page and website.

Heading to vote on your lunch break or leaving it until later this afternoon? Either way works 🗳️ Please remember you must vote at the polling station listed on your poll card. You must bring an accepted form of photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.

It’s election day 🗳️ All 57 seats on Swindon Borough Council are up for election today, alongside all contested parish council seats. The results will decide how Swindon Borough Council is run for the next four years. 🕖 Polling stations are open until 10pm.

If was an app that anyone can check on collection hold ups. Roll on Reform.

@SwindonCouncil here we go again recycling day, no show, have to wait until 5pm until classed as a missed collection. Phones shut down at 4pm🤔 If this was a privately run business it would have gone bankrupt long ago. Windy tonight street will look like a flytip tomorrow 😡

Really disappointed @SwindonCouncil after reporting missed green bin collection you simply close off and say it wasn’t at collection point, well it was from night before and didn’t get moved. Very poor service.

@Krispie1976 Hi Chris, Yes they always collect additional plastic and metal recycling as long as its in a sturdy container.

@SwindonCouncil if recycling blue bags full after Christmas what will the recycling teams be willing to collect them in? Can I put additional plastics / tins etc in a box next to it and will they take it? Thanks

Start 2026 with parkrun🏃 Free, friendly 5 km runs happen every Saturday at Lydiard Park and Seven Fields (9 am). If you have little ones, you could try Junior Parkrun for 4-14 year olds every Sunday at Lydiard or GWR Park (2 km, 9 am).
