A significant share of capital that could flow through private markets doesn't, because the way to invest in private markets remains unfamiliar to many investors and the advisors who serve them. That gap is getting smaller, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

New Federal Reserve data (cited in the Wall Street Journal this week) show that investments in private companies are among the largest components of wealth for the top 0.1% of U.S. households, second only to stocks/mutual funds and ahead of real estate and durable goods. (🧵)
