He grew up somewhere between the two so think he should be fine across the north west but you just never know nowadays. Think he'd probably be best off trying to avoid a muslim heavy area, probably want an old Labour seat that have been put off by Starmer but would come back for a Burnham

@wesstreeting Disgraceful. I hope it ends your political career. Putting your own inflated aspirations ahead of what’s right for the country right now.

There is an escape route for Labour from certain disaster at the general election: use their Commons majority to ram through PR. It’s cynical, + they’d never govern alone again, but it locks Reform out of No10. The left (Lab, Gr, LD) still have a majority over the right in the UK

Foakes glovework for England was far from perfect . Fan boys & girls choose to forget that . Was actually more taken with his batting , which was decent without quite being what teams strive for in Tests . But the second coming of Jack Russell behind the stumps was well wide of the mark . I'd look away from Surrey for England's Test keeper

@tds122 @joerob_96 Sample size and difficulty of chances important to metrics like this. You're just taking numbers as gospel. Foakes clearly a different league to Bairstow including standing up more. Bairstow cost England the ashes missing a very easy stumping after all.

@joerob_96 Why , when Bairstow has a better record with the gloves for england ? dropped less catches & better stumping conversion per chance

@DannWorth @Readingfanman @oddschecker That in itself is about an 18/1 double. 40s promotion sounds about the price to me with play off price x semi qualification x final.

Reading are the most backed League One side this week to be promoted this season (50% bets), according to @oddschecker. The Royals have shortened from 50/1 to 16/1 this week. #ReadingFC

I am heading to the @FIFAWorldCup and I haven’t missed the last 5 major tournaments following @England home and away through qualification as well. I am huge fan but most important a realist and anyone considering betting England at 6/1 (14.3%) to win the WC needs their head examining 🧠 This is their potential route. Group L: Croatia, Ghana, Panama Last 32: Best 3rd place Last 16: Mexico City in Mexico QF: Brazil in Miami SF: Argentina F: Spain/France

@seeley_nigel @UpTheGun86 @FIFAWorldCup @England I have no view on the price but there's a lot of situations where England play much easier QFs and SFs than those that their group position suggests. Doubt France thought they'd have Morocco in a semi last WC.

@ramy_abousetta Big fan of you Ramy but why don’t we just run simulations and not bother with actual players. Football, like life, is by its nature unexpected. It’s not ice skating… people argue that it gives us xtra insight- it does- about an alternative universe that never actually happened.

A bunch of white Irish left wing radicals wearing keffiyehs telling actual Iranian refugees they’re “puppets” for resisting a brutal theocracy and totalitarian regime. A truly Orwellian moment in Belfast.

How Harry Brook has transformed England's approach to bowling spin in T20. England have already taken 30 wickets with spin this World Cup - the second most in the competition, and 8 more than England's spinners took in any previous World Cup. telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026/0…
