New game thread. The old one is really long and it breaks apart when you scroll through it. I appreciate that y'all enjoy it so I'm gonna try to get back to doing it regularly.

@WiiTwerkTrainer Since this stuff is very Pegasus centered, I’m thinking something related to Relinquished, Parrot, Manga Ryu Ran. Stuff like that.

@UndeadDuelist @IWishTCG Not sure if this play gets you there. The pumpking xyz requires zombies and if you make an extra deck summon with gone wild and goblin zombie you can search normals summons and snake hair, but you can't search for pumpking and you can't normal summon anymore. Not sure

Wait so if you grab this you get a free lv6 extender in a lv6 deck that then summons Goblin Zombie? And Goblin Zombie doesn't miss timing as material bc its mandatory? (thanks @IWishTCG ) And the only zombie lock that matters is CotForgotten which only occurs after it resolves?

@TweekSsb Boards are pretty well-layered this format, so I think Droplet is subpar unless you have a spell that ends the game when it resolves (since you can afford to pitch more and dodging Flame matters) Imperm and Veiler are decent, so is Nibiru in the side (since it has to be paired)

My current zombie list in yugioh, would love to hear some thoughts from any knowledgeable players 🙏

@CristianUrena_ This reminds me of me trying to convince people at my yugioh locals that smash is so much worse than yugioh Ganon could only dream of having 17 1 card combos

@TweekSsb what is the pank being sided in for? i feel like it doesn't really do enough into yummy atm, since they're really ending on more than just snatchy + a body now and it's harder to just attack over their interaction

@Cashmoneez Fair, break out is a little new to the list but I really like how it brings everything together. Searches for a normal summon if you don't have it, searches for snake hair to get vortex of time if you had to search for army, etc. Also for the dodges ofc

@TweekSsb I’m also not particularly convinced about 3 break out (or even 1 tbh) specifically bc it is opt and strictly an extender and not a starter especially half of your non engine of choice is s/t. In that regard I think delta of inv is a better extender

@KarmanoRY I don't play much in person, so maybe my non engine is a little weird. I've been really liking it, I don't think the deck is very good going 2nd so I feel like droplet can help me dodge stuff and win games.

@Cashmoneez It is tempting under charmies for sure, but I feel like I'd need a bit more before I'm convinced I need to play it

@TweekSsb Balerdroch is just the best option for half board or if you are under charmy

@Cashmoneez I like the idea to use balerdroch to play through hand traps. I prefer to just play things like more copies of vortex of time post side to insulate instead.

@TweekSsb Balerdroch is simply one of the main advantages to even play zombies. A recurring big body that can negate some of the best handtraps that is accessible through your combo

@WindaGaming I prefer the normal summons to dump mezuki to cheat the pumpking out of grave. Since pumpking is the chokepoint I'd rather have a play for when they stop it rather than hoping they stop something else. Sadly I can't play dominus impulse anymore but yeah.

@TweekSsb It looks really good. I agree the zombie world stuff isn't worth it, but I like Delta as an extender and handtrap bait so Pumking is more likely to resolve. Getting to Varudras through the Flying Mary line is helpful but your list already has a lot of ways to extend so it's fine.

@WindaGaming I overall dislike delta. If you're playing more zombie world type stuff it's good which means more bricks in the main which also means potentially mad mauler and shitty cards in the ED. But delta doesn't do anything by itself. It just doesn't. It's really good hand trap bait tho.

@Cashmoneez The more you play into the zombie world stuff the more bad cards I feel like you have to play. I'd rather play the 1 eldlich for the omni negate especially considering their isn't a lot of efficient mills.

It is important to be open minded and you should be able to execute when an opportunity presents itself. But footstool out of shield is not going to save you. I’d hope you would beat someone playing that poorly into your space anyway.

If you’re playing a character that struggles out of shield, focus on the exact opposite of locking yourself in shield to look for your opponent to make multiple mistakes. It’s not the answer the community suggests it is.

I don’t think footstool out of shield is nearly as strong of a strategy as people think. There are footstool setups with insane insurance behind them, which are pretty much the exception. People often associate footstool out of shield as fixes to characters that lack options.
