@Chels1an Most of them farcical - but you are taking the piss when Keita kicked Trev in the balls - him needing stitches at half time. Should have been a red for Keita - but somehow Trev got a yellow

🚨 BREAKING: Chelsea are seriously monitoring Darwin Núñez ahead of a potential free transfer this summer!
The 26-year-old Uruguayan striker is on the verge of leaving Al Hilal after a frustrating spell in Saudi Arabia. Limited minutes and the arrival of Karim Benzema have left him frozen out, leading to a mutual agreement to terminate his £400k-a-week contract. This paves the way for a sensational return to European football on a free, with Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Juventus all keeping close tabs.
Núñez is a dynamic, high-energy forward blessed with blistering pace, immense physical power, and exceptional aerial ability. His direct, aggressive style, combining relentless pressing, clever movement in the box, and clinical finishing, made him a constant threat at Liverpool. At his best, he’s a powerful, all-action No.9 who can change games with his work rate and raw athleticism.
With João Pedro delivering consistent performances up front, signing Núñez would provide a strong, high-quality backup and fierce competition for the starting XI. This low-risk, high-upside move fits Chelsea’s summer rebuild perfectly. No formal bid yet, but the interest is real and building fast. A shock Premier League return could be on the cards.
Would Núñez be a smart addition to challenge João Pedro? Drop your thoughts!

@Blue_Footy With 3 at the back? What happens to all the wingers ?

🚨🔵 | Geovany Quenda could be the perfect fit for Xabi Alonso’s system at Chelsea 👀
The Portuguese wonderkid has already thrived as a wing-back under Ruben Amorim and his pace, dribbling ability and direct style could make him a huge weapon in Alonso’s preferred tactical setup
Chelsea have already secured Quenda’s arrival alongside Emanuel Emegha as preparations continue for next season.

@Blue_Footy @FootieWriter They haven’t - and we’ve had 8 or 10 in their reign

@FootieWriter Don't worry. The club will give the new coach more power over sporting decisions.

This is fascinating.
First, if #CFC can get Xabi #Alonso, they should. However, can they? I have doubts because the current structure at Chelsea doesn’t naturally align with a manager like him long-term.
Alonso isn’t just a tracksuit coach who turns up on matchday and picks a XI. He clearly sees football holistically, recruitment, tactical identity, player profiles, long-term direction. That was part of the friction at Real Madrid. He’s already experienced what happens when a club hierarchy wants the coach to simply “fit in” to a wider machine.
Chelsea’s ownership model has been built around sporting directors, data-led recruitment and long-term squad building that exists above any one manager.
That’s the contradiction.
Chelsea are trying to build a modern, process-driven superstructure while simultaneously pursuing elite coaches with strong football identities. Historically, eventually one side wins that power struggle.
The irony is Alonso actually fits Chelsea’s profile perfectly:
• Young
• Modern tactician
• Develops younger players
• Comfortable with analytics/data
• Progressive football
• Understands the EPL
But this would also be the first real test of whether Chelsea’s ownership are prepared to loosen control for a coach with truly elite potential.
Maresca, Potter, Rosenior and even Pochettino to an extent hadn’t proven themselves at the absolute top level by winning major trophies. Alonso already has.
If Chelsea want a coach of that calibre, eventually they may need to accept that elite managers don’t just want responsibility, they want influence.
If they don’t loosen their grip, Alonso has enough stock right now to simply wait rather than walk into another situation where he becomes expendable the second friction appears.
Massive gamble for Alonso if it happens, because a failed stint at Madrid and Chelsea won't leave him as desired as after his time at Leverkusen.

Seriously can’t believe Chelsea fans are saying no to this demon
Just Chelsea@justcfc
City will get less rest days than us, no excuses if we don’t win on Saturday tbh

@cfcgarrett @Chelsearory The only criteria for me is 1. Experience. 2. Not a dork 3. No ties to rivals. Is this too hard ?

Xabi Alonso’s agent clearly using Chelsea as a mechanism to nudge Liverpool into making a move. There’s no way a manager of Alonso’s pedigree would consider working for the charlatans in the Chelsea boardroom, surely?

@TheForumChelsea Probably - the club is debt ridden and have to bow to the UEFA settlement.
