@VanniTheFein @riotgames of course they shouldn't, but it's the best recourse we have until an actual precedent is set legally. I'm celebrating this because this brings a LOT of attention to the issue of cheating in online games, which brings us closer to actual change.

@ThirtyVirus As I already said cheating in a videogame is not a crime. A dick move, sure, but not actually against the law. Vandalism however IS a crime. Like the police get involved sort of crime. You cannot just break the law because you are pissed off at somebody. You will go to prison.

If you cheat in online videogames, bad things should happen to you

@curebores Humanity had it's entire history to figure out that murder is bad. Cheating online has been around for ~25y, not enough time for the fossils in congress to finally croak & get replaced so we can update our laws. The only fallacious argument is that laws = morality

@errsin_ I don't like the implications either but that's the world we live in. It's already happened to our phones and soon will happen with cars as well. We've already lost the battle for privacy, so we might as well advocate for using intrusions like this for good.

@cerix144 I genuinely believe that being caught with cheats should be treated in the same way as piracy, with a hefty fine. It makes no difference to me if that fine is served through the mail or through a borked GPU
