Elder Holland was my friend. He personally comforted and ministered to me during the darkest and hardest time of my life. He taught me to “take heart” and that the Lord is always there. He will be missed but his message of optimism and love will live forever.

Holland, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died today at approximately 3:15 a.m. MST from complications associated with kidney disease, while surrounded by his family. I know that we have all experienced times when it seems like we cannot continue, when there isn’t enough oil to make it another day - but as we celebrate the miracle of #Hanukkah I am grateful for the Light that continues to shine through.

We are taught that the miracle of #Hanukkah involves a tiny flask of oil that lasted for eight days instead of one. Oil was a precious commodity, making the miracle even greater.
