@CoachSwit I attended Kent St vs BGSU today. Didn't see this at all. Pitchers threw strikes with feel in virtually any count. Maybe power 4 is this was but a huge MAC rival game was pitched and played the right way

Watching a Division 1 college baseball game. 15 walks in the game. Velocity looks great. Strikes… not so much. Radar gun is thrilled. The coaches not so much.

Some don't throw enough competitive innings to develop pitchability, moxie and feel. A lot of pitchers, and their parents, don't understand how far behind they are, and how many innings they need to catch up. A lot have replaced competitive innings with velocity training, pitching lessons and controlled environment training, and can't understand why they can't command an arsenal, hold runners, vary deliveries, field their position and control games. Competitive innings are very important to a pitcher's development. A good calendar year guide for high school age pitchers. Freshman-70 Sophomore-80 Junior-90 Senior-100 Includes fall, high school season and summer.

Great DM from a parent. Good morning. I just want to comment on your post about all players being treated fairly but not the same. My son is one that works hard & communicates with his coaches about his goals. He's normally the first one there & last to leave. He does a ton of extra work. So when he was getting recruited. Our coaches worked for him & really got him out there. While others that did the minimum or maybe less. Didn't get the same effort/energy from the coaches. Then they & their parents complained about how my son was getting "preferred" treatment over theirs. I don't think parents/players understand. A coach is going to give you the energy & effort you give them. They aren't going to tell a recruiter you're a hard worker or do the extra when you don't. They aren't going to put their reputation on the line for that. I also want to thank you for your posts. I truly enjoy them. Keep it up & thank you again!!
