@gracecamille_ And I see in 10 years he will leave after shutting down for 2 years prior. Cause you're insufferable and won't enjoy his stuff. Enjoy being 40 with 15 cats.

@ChristofferPhil @Doveofwar @HotSotin Poor people had more kids historically. That's no longer true, at least in the Anglosphere. Millennials aren't having kids; they are having a hard time supporting themselves. In the last few decades the birth rate has decreased along with purchasing power. This isn't complicated.

@ChristofferPhil @Doveofwar @HotSotin Haha "good economics". Bro, every generation in the West is having a harder time buying houses and paying for children than the last. That's why our birth rates are plummeting. Meanwhile, 70% of Chinese millennials own their own homes.

The murders of unarmed civilians on the streets of Minneapolis, including the killing today of the intensive-care nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti, would not come as a shock to Iraqis in Fallujah or Afghans in Helmand province. They were terrorized by heavily armed American execution squads for decades. It would not come as a shock to any of the students I teach in prison. Militarized police in poor urban neighborhoods kick down doors without warrants and kill with the same impunity and lack of accountability. What the rest of us are facing now, is what Aimé Césaire called imperial boomerang. Empires, when they decay, employ the savage forms of control on those they subjugate abroad, or those demonized by the wider society in the name of law and order, on the homeland. The tyranny Athens imposed on others, Thucydides noted, it finally, with the collapse of Athenian democracy, imposed on itself. But before we became the victims of state terror, we were accomplices. Before we expressed moral outrage at the indiscriminate taking of innocent lives, we tolerated, and often celebrated, the same Gestapo tactics, as long as they were directed at those who lived in the nations we occupied or poor people of color. We sowed the wind, now we will reap the whirlwind. The machinery of terror, perfected on those we abandoned and betrayed, including the Palestinians in Gaza, is ready for us.

Don't be confused. Despite this obviously good news, the unofficial Dynatrace Canadian engineering HQ continues to be my upstairs office.

Dynatrace has acquired @DevCycleHQ to strengthen how enterprises manage risk, resilience, and control in modern software delivery. Dynatrace + DevCycle = ✅ Safer releases ✅ Smarter experimentation ✅ Faster remediation Find more details here. dynatr.ac/4pWiRex

@Asmongold @Awk20000 I've had the misfortune of learning who you are recently... You're famous for living in a cockroach infested house and refusing to remove a dead rat from your nightstand. Why do you think you can provide a normative position on anything?

The idea that only “the rich” can use government to control people is the sort of comforting fairy tale you tell yourself when you’d rather not look at how power actually works. Governments are not puppets operated solely by millionaires twirling moustaches in boardrooms. They are machines run through factions, institutions, and pressure groups, and the people who steer those machines are very often not rich at all — just organised, ideological, and embedded. Small activist blocs routinely get policies written around their preferences precisely because they are loud, coordinated, and willing to make life miserable for anyone who resists. They don’t need to be a majority; they just need to dominate the committees, the regulator briefings, the HR departments, the media cycles, and the court challenges while everyone else is busy working and raising families. That’s how a tiny fraction of the population ends up with far more say than it deserves. It isn’t mystical. It’s basic political economics: concentrated interest beats diffuse indifference. And history is packed with non-rich people controlling the state and its funds. Marx wasn’t a banker. Lenin wasn’t a tycoon. Neither were the bureaucrats, party operatives, and ideological clergy who have captured governments over and over again. They didn’t need personal wealth to commandeer budgets, rewrite rules, or decide who eats and who starves. They needed a doctrine, a cadre, and access to the levers of enforcement. Pretending otherwise is willful blindness dressed up as virtue. So yes, rich people lobby. So do unions, NGOs, activist networks, career bureaucracies, religious movements, and every other organised tribe that wants to make the state do their bidding. If you can’t see that non-rich factions use government to control people, it’s not because it doesn’t happen. It’s because you’ve replaced reality with a slogan.

@greg_price11 You know that plenty of Germans flew flags like that as the Nazis were rising to power, and even after they did, right? Have you read a single page of history?

Only in SF kinda story. Saw a smoking hot guy at this cafe I was working from, well dressed, waiting for someone for over 25 mins & visibly distressed. Spoke to him, he was on a blind date and she didn't show (smh). We spoke more. Told him what @mintlify does, turns out he was building a devtool and was struggling to document his product and APIs. He immediately signed up for the enterprise plan. Day is made. ✌️

How’s a so-called “working class” mayoral candidate like Zohran Mamdani eating at OMEN SUSHI tonight — one of the priciest joints in NYC? 🍣💰 This clown lives in a rent-stabilized apartment in Queens but dines like a diplomat on a Qatar-funded per diem. Who’s paying for that toro, “Zoron the Moron”? You ain’t working class — you’re fraud class. #ZohranMamdani #ZoronTheMoron
