Which ZK tech can you trust with your Dollars? Of recent, in the cross fire of the battle between Canton and Ethereum and Solana, the question of ZK safety has come up. As co-founder of @Zcash and @StarkWareLtd, both powered by ZK, I want to share my thoughts. Any new software technology may contain bugs. And sometimes these bugs can cost money, or even lives. Think about autonomous driving, flying, critical medical devices (pacemakers) and, to a lesser extent, financial infrastructure. They can all have bugs. The world knows by now how to deal with bugs – audits, using best in class products (remember “no one got fired for recommending IBM”?) and battle-tested products. That’s one of the areas Starknet shines: - We invented most of the ZK technology embraced by everyone today. - We productized it first and built the first, best, safest ZK-VM - We formally proved our ZK-VM's security We did this several years ago and since then have securely processed upwards of $1.5 Trillion over multiple systems, years, and use cases. Hell, we trust this technology well enough to be the only team to run it with *no* additional rails/checks/committees. If a ZK-STARK proof shows you can move from state A to state B for Starknet, that’s precisely what we’ll do. And now, with version 0.14.2, privacy and zk-threads, we’re putting this power in the hands of any operator who chooses to use it. Does this mean there can never ever be a bug in these systems? Just like we cannot be 100% sure of this with respect to the airplanes we board, the cars we drive, the medical devices we rely on for staying alive – we cannot have more certainty for Starknet. But it’s the damn best most secure blokchain that has ever existed, and that’s saying something.

🎧 Spotify made music more accessible for fans, but less sustainable for artists. 💸 Patreon made it easier to support creators, but early believers don’t share in the upside. 📊 Polymarket made prediction profitable, but gambling is a zero sum game. Tone Music is creating new value. Supporting artists, enabling fan participation in success, and aligning incentives for both.

Most crypto doesn’t generate cash flow, so what actually gives it value? 📈 Stocks = ownership in earning businesses 🏠 Real estate = rental income 🎧 Royalties = direct cash flow A lot of crypto is mostly sentiment + speculation. That’s not necessarily bad, but I think long term value will belong to assets tied to real earnings or real utility. That’s why I’m building Tone Music - linking artist success and royalties to tradable digital assets, so value is tied to real world performance, not just hype.
