💧 Watermain Flushing Maintenance Begins 💧 From May 12 to July 31, District crews will turn on hydrants to release large amounts of high-pressure water as part of a routine spring flushing. During this time, you may notice a slight discolouration or a cloudy appearance of your water and possibly reduced pressure when crews flush hydrants in your area. There are no health hazards associated with discoloured water, and the water is SAFE to use and consume. Flushing is an essential preventative maintenance activity that: ✅ Confirms the hydrant is working correctly ✅ Assesses the available flow to the hydrant ✅ Allows us to deliver the highest quality water to our customers ✅ Removes mineral and sediment build-up from the watermains If you notice discolouration, we recommend running cold water through your bathtub tap or another tap without a screen until the water runs clear. You may also notice large puddles on the streets as the water could be flushed onto the roads. Have any questions?
