I dont see anything wrong there, it is the people that will vote for them. Remember Governor Ortom lost his Senate election because the people felt he didn't deserve it. It is not automatic. If I see a performing governor running for Senate after his tenure I will vote for him. My own is, not all of them deserve it!

Dear outgoing governors, Stop rushing to the Senate immediately after leaving office. You’ve already held one of the most powerful positions in the country. Governor is bigger than Senate, so why the downgrade? At this point, it doesn’t look like service. It looks like desperation to stay relevant. You’re blocking new leaders, recycling power, and turning politics into a personal career path instead of public service. Not every position is meant to be occupied back-to-back. Build influence outside office. Mentor others. Strengthen your legacy. Clinging to the Senate after being governor doesn’t make you important, it makes you look greedy.
