The UK work complements other live initiatives worldwide: ADAPT in Africa with @InstituteGC, @wef, and @AfCFTA; @salusplatform , which finances raw critical minerals trade; and @GLEIF, which provides verifiable legal entity identifiers for global supply chains.

The TWIN solution, built on @iota , is tracking real, live shipments through @TeessideUni's Digital Trade Testbed – one of the UK’s first real-world environments for testing digital trade.

Four UK Government officials were seconded to @iota for 12 months, working hands-on with delivery teams to ensure digital trade technology is genuinely fit for border and revenue processes.

This deployment builds on last year’s UK Government Border Trade Demonstrator pilots, where TWIN showed supply-chain data can be shared up to 20 hours earlier – cutting errors, delays, and costs.

@iota Refined Adaptors. TWIN Adaptors bridge legacy IT systems (like customs or EU eFTI) with TWIN dataspaces. The new architecture defines "External," "In-node," and "Hybrid" models to support bi-directional workflow propagation without replacing existing systems. 8/9
