This tradition actually dates back to 1893 on the one year anniversary of John R. Buchtel's death. As we reflect on our founding, we are reminded that we are incredibly thankful for the Buchtels and UA - Happy Founder's Day! 🎉

Each year on Founders Day, a wreath is laid at the gravesite of @uakron founder, John R. Buchtel, and his wife Elizabeth Buchtel in Glendale Cemetery. 💙💛 Pictured are UA student ambassadors & representatives from the Office of Alumni Relations who continue that tradition today!
