@UNC_BearsFB went live with full pads Saturday in a scrimmage that saw plenty of big hits, sacks, take-aways, runs and touchdowns. This capped off their second week of spring practice. Quarterbacks Hank Gibbs and Peter Costelli ran the ball well. Costelli rushed for one touchdown and racked up numerous yards on the ground after keeping it on a couple of impressive option runs. He also threw a touchdown pass over the middle to Brayden Munroe. Running Backs Jacquez Robertson and Caiden Meis ran with authority from the first drive and Meis scored the first touchdown for the offense. Jordan Hornbeak and Larenz Lovelace also got into the endzone. David Afari ran hard. The offense had good tempo most of the morning despite a few turnovers. The defense took advantage and also created some take-ways including one for a touchdown by DB Nathaniel Gillis and a by DB Franky Morales. Linebacker Ezra Ekuban and DL Marcus Howard brought pressure and made several plays behind the line of scrimmage. Noah Mangham and Keenan Guthrie picked off passes and created challenges for the offense all morning. It was a great scrimmage.
