@UN__Cyber has worked tirelessly supporting Member States in increasing int. cooperation. For the last years, this included supporting them to achieve the #UNCybercrimeConvention, the newest global standard for operations. Our journey to build a safer digital world continues! 🇺🇳

In Niger, UNODC trained 28 investigators & prosecutors from key 🇳🇬 agencies on Deep/Dark Web & cryptocurrency investigations. Participants gained practical skills in crypto tracing & handling of digital evidence to better protect victims & dismantle organized crime networks.

🇲🇽🛜,10 Mar | @UN__Cyber’s #CyberDohaCenter delivered a session w/ #TeProtejoMexico in context of @safeinternetday, discussing online risks facing children & adolescents, guidance for parents & importance of reporting mechanisms to prevent & respond to online abuse @FundacionPAS.

Participants highlighted the proper handling of digital evidence and cybercrime warrants as key learnings from the training. Building these capabilities helps investigators and prosecutors: ✔ Reduce evidentiary issues ✔ Strengthen prosecutions ✔ Improve coordination 🙏🏼🇳🇱

From theory to practice. Practical exercises on warrants, digital evidence handling, investigator-prosecutor coordination and cross border investigations and prosecution with resource persons from 🇳🇱 and 🇦🇺 were among the most valuable takeaways. Supported by 🇳🇱

Foreign and local law enforcement together—sharing tools and hard lessons—to strengthen cross-border investigations. At the RTD & Workshop on Operational Cross-Border Data Sharing, collaboration turns into practical pathways for rights-based-action against online fraud and OSAEC.

Clark, 🇵🇭, 23-26 Feb |🙏🏾support from 🇯🇵, @UN__Cyber & @dojphofficial rolled out the Guidelines on Cybercrime Investigation & Prosecution training to 4⃣5⃣ prosecutors, #LEA, and Court staff in region 3.💪LEA–Prosecutor collaboration = better #DigitalEvidence + #StrongerCourtCases.

Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo underscored the need to strengthen the digital capabilities of courts as the #SupremeCourtPH (SC) received equipment donated by the Netherlands during the 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘧𝘌𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘴 on February 12, 2026, at the SC 𝘌𝘯 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘤 Session Hall in Manila. The equipment was provided through the support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in partnership with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). It will benefit 30 cybercrime courts handling cases of online child sexual abuse, unlawful data access and interference, and sophisticated financial or crypto-enabled crimes often linked to organized crime. Chief Justice Gesmundo thanked the Government of the Netherlands, represented by Ambassador Maria Alfonsa Magdalena Geraedts, and the UNODC, represented by UN Resident Coordinator for the Philippines Arnaud Peral. He noted that their support reflects a shared international commitment to confront cybercrime, especially offenses that harm children and exploit the vulnerable. Ambassador Geraedts explained that the Netherlands chose to support the Philippines despite the geographical distance because they believe that “justice anywhere strengthens justice everywhere.” For his part, Peral welcomed the collaboration and noted that cybercrime is now at the center of global concerns, affecting countries in different ways and often targeting the most vulnerable. In accepting the donation, Court Administrator Ma. Theresa Dolores C. Gomez-Estoesta highlighted that the donation represents true collaboration and mutual respect between institutions.
