I went on a first date yesterday and he showed up with flowers. That alone would have been enough to impress me. Then the date somehow lasted six hours. We talked the entire time and never hit that awkward point where you start checking your phone and pretending you have somewhere else to be. It just felt easy. At one point I realized I hadn’t touched the water sitting in front of me. He noticed, slid the glass a little closer, and said, “I’m going to have to remind you to drink water regularly, aren’t I?” I laughed because it was such a small comment, but it was weirdly sweet.
