Climate change in the Sahel is not a theory or political talking point. It is a documented security driver affecting Nigeria directly. Rising temperatures, desertification, and shrinking water sources have destroyed livelihoods across the region, forcing farmers and pastoralists into competition over scarce resources. This breakdown of economic stability weakens communities and creates the exact conditions in which insecurity thrives.
Terrorist groups understand this reality better than many online commentators do. Around the Lake Chad Basin, extremist factions recruit from displaced and economically desperate populations, offering income, protection, and identity where survival options have collapsed.
Climate change does not automatically create terrorists, but it accelerates poverty, displacement, and governance gaps that make radicalization easier.
If we truly want to understand terrorism in Nigeria, we must look beyond simplistic narratives and acknowledge how environmental stress, economic hardship, and security are deeply connected.

This is so powerful and heartbreaking. Women should never live in fear simply for being women. Toxic patriarchy and misogyny are systemic, and real change requires accountability, awareness, and action from everyone especially men. It’s time society stops controlling our bodies and starts respecting our rights. Who’s ready to stand up and demand change?
English

This morning! I have cried because of the videos I’ve seen.. I’ve gone as far as reaching out to Kate Henshaw, Iyabo Ojo And Real warri pikin to see how we can get ACTIVE and protest about this!!
I will never understand why BEING A WOMAN is a crime in this part of the world.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
It’s enough that society is highly misogynistic and we practice toxic patriarchy in this country. The society is 95% controlled by men. Is that not enough power? You control almost everything in this country. Is that not enough power for the Nigerian man? You still want to have power over our BODIES??.
Does that not show you how Nigerian society has TREMENDOUSLY failed in raising the male child??
TACHA🔱🇬🇭 🇳🇬@Symply_Tacha
The Nigerian society HAS FAILED THE MALE CHILD!! we spent years POLICING & the girl child now look at the rubbish we have to deal with!!! Ikorodu Andrew Tate and his rapist friends won’t see THIS!!! FAILURES!!!!
