Tuapse keeps catching fire. Ukrainian drones struck the Rosneft oil complex on Russia's Black Sea coast for the fourth time in 16 days overnight on 1 May. By morning, Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ was watching the fire spread to more than one tank. The Tuapse refinery processes 12 million tonnes of oil a year, with a refining depth of about 98% — one of Rosneft's most advanced refineries. Ukrainian drones have been picking it apart since 16 April. Russia is putting out fires faster than it's repairing what they burned through. In April 2026, the "Elga" management company shipped 3.335 million tons of coal concentrate to ports in the Far East, volumes equivalent to 40 million tons per year. From the very beginning, @la_Biennale’s cowardly choice to admit Russia has been disgraceful. Today, we see how it continues to harm the Venice Biennale. Ukraine is grateful to all those who, guided by moral responsibility and a commitment to democratic values, refuses to accept this disgrace. We renew our call on the Venice Biennale to reverse its decision and keep Russia away. There is still time to return to a principled stance that the international art community has upheld since the beginning of Russia’s brutal full-scale war against Ukraine.

Russian curler Elizaveta Kiselova, who has posted photos with the St. George’s ribbon — a symbol of Russian aggression against Ukraine — has been included in the list of participants for the Junior World Curling Championship. Due to the position of the IOC and International Federation in support of the terrorist state that is committing genocide, representatives of the aggressor country will participate in the tournaments with their own national symbols. The World Junior Championships in Mixed Pairs will be held in Edmonton, Canada, from May 5 to 10, 2026. So, perhaps the Canadian community will take the initiative and not allow supporters of terrorism onto its territory?

One of the most cynical Russian war crimes is the systematic, calculated transfer of Ukrainian children, scattering them across Russia, concealing their fate, “reprogramming” their culture, and continuously, shamelessly subjecting them to militarization. It is vitally important to bring our children back home from there. Before the Russians break them. And every initiative, every activity, every effort that helps achieve this also helps Ukraine. Russia's return to big sports is being normalized. This is wrong and unethical. President of the Russian Curling Federation Dmitry Svishchev is using legal threats and public pressure in Moscow's bid for international readmission into another Olympic sport, Politico reported. In November last year, Svishchev said his federation was preparing to submit a lawsuit to the world's top sports court, CAS, to force Russia's return to international curling. The RCF later wrote to the global governing body World Curling, demanding junior athletes be readmitted to competitions, along with their flag and anthem. World Curling confirmed in late January the return of junior athletes from Russia and Belarus to competitions, with the adult reintegration to be discussed in April at Russia's "request," Svishchev said. Oleksii Perevezentsev, president of the Ukrainian Curling Federation, accused World Curling of transgressing the International Olympic Committee's recommendation "just to bring back youth, not juniors." "I am deeply concerned because what we are seeing is not a series of isolated decisions. It looks like a broader shift toward normalizing Russia's return to international sport," Matvii Bidnyi, Ukraine's minister of youth and sports, said.
