@vmarconi2 @CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @elonmusk A lot of people carry the label, but not the values. Faith isn’t supposed to be a badge it’s a way of living, treating people, and embodying the principles Christ taught. Once you look past the identity, you see the real difference is in character.

@CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @Iamjaneezy @elonmusk I agree 100% - core values are where we should focus. The problem I often encounter is that many of my fellow Christians know an entirely different Christ than I know. We share the same religious identity but once we scratch the surface this is only club membership and not values

@CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @Iamjaneezy @elonmusk I do agree that ancestry and creed are correlated in some circumstances though was trying to distinguish that language is a technical barrier worth discussing as you pointed out whereas ancestry as a characteristic itself should not be a barrier

@vmarconi2 @JulieBombulay @Iamjaneezy @elonmusk It is but it isn't. You'd have to be blind to not notice certain races have more predominant religions then others. This ends up then turning religious tensions into racial tensions. It shouldn't be this way bit that's the way people are.

@CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @Iamjaneezy @elonmusk No doubt language differences create massive challenges for collective efforts in all employment settings but quickly forces most immigrants to learn quickly or fall behind. Imagine NYC from 100 yrs ago It is why people create enclaves when they arrive to facilitate transition

I may have been over generalizing. There are some exceptions but the point I was trying to make still holds true. The small numbers of minorities with different cultures or beliefs were no threat to the dominant culture and would have to assimilate. Not so much these days. Some construction sites these days actually remind me of the Tower of Babel. Various foreigners speaking different languages. Massive fuck ups ensue.

@vmarconi2 @CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @elonmusk Yes immigration done right is additive, not subtractive. The U.S. became a superpower because it turned global diversity into innovation. A nation’s strength has always come from the people it attracts, not the people it excludes.

@CanadaRenegade @JulieBombulay @Iamjaneezy @elonmusk The process should be formal, no doubt, we should not view this as a subtractive process as immigration is additive in astounding ways. The United States became the most powerful nation on Earth because of a thriving, active, creative, diverse and energetic immigrant community

Eswatini is setting a powerful example in HIV prevention. @PeterASands reflects on the country’s first delivery of long-acting PrEP – showing what’s possible when innovation reaches people not years later, but now. This is a turning point: With investment, partnership and trust, we can turn this breakthrough into real progress toward ending AIDS. #WorldAIDSDay Read more: forbes.com/sites/petersan…
