Happy Mother’s Day UK 🇬🇧. When your friend’s son invites you to an evening of Bach, Handel and Mozart at the same age you were listening to Falco’s Rock Me Amadeus. Tell no one. 🤦‍♀️🤣💃🥰 #happymothersday #music #generations

Happy International Women's Day and a BIG thank you to all the women past, present, and future that have inspired me! The 2026 UN theme is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls,” focusing on closing legal gaps, ending gender-based violence, and ensuring equal rights. #internationalwomensday #grateful #rights #justice #action

Brilliant service of Thanksgiving & Dedication at Saint Martin-within-Ludgate Church to install the new Master of The Worshipful Company of Paviors, Swedish-born (Carl) Alexander Malmaeus BA (Hons) Dip Arch Arkitekt SAR. The medieval church (note near Amen Corner) was rebuilt in 1437 after being struck by lightning. William Penn, whose son founded Pennsylvania, was married here in 1643. An Installation Dinner followed and was held at Stationer’s Hall. #service #liverycompanies #cityoflondon #Charity #paviors #history

The church of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe in the Mistrzejowice district of Kraków is one of my favorites. 🙏 Sent to Auschwitz as a political prisoner for being an educated priest, Franciscan Friar Maximilian Kolbe volunteered to take the place of Francis Gajownicek, whom he did not know, but who was sentenced to starve to death in Auschwitz. Ten men were put into a small cell and died one by one. Kolbe, the last to die and taking too long, was killed by an injection of carbolic acid. Kolbe is the only person to sacrifice himself for another at Auschwitz. This church almost didn’t get built as it was prohibited by authorities in 1970. The Archbishop of Kraków, Karol Wojtyła, however, supported it, and returning as Pope John Paul II, he consecrated this church in the early 1980’s. 75% of the funding to build the church came from Polish-British art dealer Andrew Ciechanowiecki, who is buried in the crypt. A must see on any visit to Kraków ❤️

I have never been to synagogue so I jumped to see Kazimierz in Kraków’s Jewish quarter. Remuh Synagogue was founded by the merchant Israel Isserles ben Joseph for his son Moses, Rabbi and scholar. In its cemetery one can see the practice of placing stones on tombstones (instead of flowers… reserved for the living). Beauty mogul Helena Rubinstein was born here and not too far away is Schindler’s famous factory. #kazimierzdistrict #remuhsynogogue #jewishquarter #schindlersfactory #helenarubinstein

I’ve only worn a ball gown twice, just to show the historical significance of the Bractwo Kurkowe w Krakowie (Kraków Riflemen’s Brotherhood). This civil military group, established 1257, provided Kraków’s protection, and in return, received a coat of arms & symbol, a silver rooster w precious stones, in 1565. Their annual event at the Wieliczka Salt Mine fell on the birthday of The Marksman King, Maciej Żółciński “Lubicz”. The Polish singer/guitarist Maryla Rodowicz (note same age as Debbie Harry), was greeted with a standing ovation and gave a smashing performance. She signed her 🎸guitar for auction that evening. Top night. #wieliczkasaltmine #marylarodowicz #poland #bractwokurkowe #zakonmaltańskipolska

Okay, ok. Everyone is chasing me for the last minute gift ideas I promised for the spirit & the soul (What? Not you?) 🧐🤦‍♀️😉🫵. Here are my top three: 1 Secure a Home for Disabled Children - this center provides daily treatment & rehabilitation for children with disabilities (from autism, cerebral palsy to CNS disorders). Your tax-deductible donation ensures children receive care forever. $290k total ask, donations starting at $10K. Why I like this: helping disabled children, opportunistic, gives a forever home in Kraków. Participation details attached. 👍 @elonmusk 🙏 2 Procure a Private Chapel.  Wow 🤩 talk about forever homes , ahem.  This ‘money can’t buy’ item is one you won’t find on 1stDibs. Located in Kraków, this chapel can be yours for a tax-deductible donation (in US, UK or Poland) of $1m. Why I like this: Unique, Interesting to decorate & plan, keeps everyone together.  Negatives: Catholics only.  DM me for info. 3 Help fund a Museum Chapel – If you like the idea of a chapel, but not your own, join those building the Altar of Slovak Immigration at Kasigarda in Slovakia. Constructed from stained-glass panels imported from the USA, this altar, designed by Architect Vaclav Hochmuth, is stunning. Donations cover procurement & construction. Why I like this: Kasigarda is grateful for any amount, preserves & celebrates history, design is extraordinary. @slovakamericancc kasigarda.sk/en/the-seat-of… Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all. #lastminite #giftideas #forthesoul❤️ #tistheseasonforgiving #poland #slovakia
